Clayton's world took a decided turn when he lost his best friend and issued his ultimatum to Adriana. He entered a world full of darkness, deceit, and a whole lot of bloodshed.
The Assassin Evolves, book 2 in the Irrevocable Change Trilogy, by R.E. Schobernd shows us just how far down the path of evil Clayton is traveling. Killing scene after killing scene show a life full of bloodshed and gore. At times it almost feels as if it's just too much, but this is the world that Clayton resides in now. He isn't just a professional hit man, he's a killer who needs the fulfillment that each kill brings him.
We do however get another piece of the puzzle and it just might indicate that maybe Clayton's nature contributed more to his development than we originally believed.
The path that Clayton is on is one of pain and destruction, which will be brought right to his door on more than one occasion. Until ultimately one last tragedy in his life pushes Clayton over the edge and his mind snaps. Clayton comes full circle in the realm of killing when he once again kills out of anger and impulsively as the demons of his mind torment him.
But you'll have to check back tomorrow to see if Clayton's demons released their hold on them, because that's where this book in the trilogy ended. Can't wait!

I love all three of the assassin books. The only thing that I do not like is all the bad language.

In book two of the Irrevocable Change trilogy the assassin continued to improve his skills both as a killer and antique dealer. I liked the fact that he is not portrayed as a superman/hero figure. He gets beaten and shot and bleeds and makes mistakes like everyone else. The level of detail in the hits is above average and I liked the fact that the type of firearms used is spelled out. As he gets more proficient and jaded I began to move from liking him to knowing he was becoming evil and dangerous and had to be stopped. The section where he murdered a serial rapist killer and his girlfriend was very real and bordered on being disturbing. Clay's escape from three goons from Philly was truly inspired and the description of the action was superb. I found all of the action scenes in books one and two to be highly detailed and believable, even though one or two did stretch credibility somewhat. His mother's revelation about the long term relationship he forced Adrianna to endure was totally unexpected and I felt his pain over the outcome. The ending of book two drove home the fact that he had fully accepted the power of his role of assassin and had little feeling about ending innocent lives. The Assassin Evolves is a fast paced read that kept me involved while moving Clayton to the top of the professional killer ranks and begins to set up his downfall. Another good read.

The author continued to amaze me in the second story. I liked it a lot. The violence was almost over the top, but in all cases was not so explicit as to be graphic and gory The story line kept me fully involved and I felt myself attached to Clayton and cheering for him. I bought book three and have started it.

R. E. SCHOBERND'S "IRREVOCABLE CHANGE SERIES" BOOKS 2 & 3 (REVIEW)
The expansion in books 2 & 3 of the "Irrevocable Change" series is remarkable. Mr. Schobernd writes with precision and accuracy. His books are wonderfully detailed and he takes both time and great care in developing his characters. I highly recommend these books to anyone interested in high crime novels.

The Assassin Evolves exposes the cunning and dangerous side of the assassin. As his expertise grew he abandoned the code he had sworn to live by and turned to drink to fight the demons in his head. The author explores life's secrets and surprises and shows that relationships are not always what they seem. An engrossing read from start to finish.
