This is a great Baseball story. It is a story about loss and triumph. It is story about a teenage boy and his younger brother who never gave up. What they achieved was beyond their wildest dreams, but only because they worked hard to make it happen. There were many parts of the book that stuck with me, and I’ve looked one up. It is the teenager, Devin, speaking to an audience and relating his father’s advice about growing up. He says, “You become a man when your mind moves away from a childish outlook on life, when you prove to yourself that you control your own destiny, and when you show respect not only for others but for yourself and the person that you are. You are a man when you not only dream but take steps to fulfill your dreams.”

This a great book for anyone who even knows the basics of baseball and for anyone who wants to see how dedication, perseverance and courage can change a life.

A review at Barnes and Noble called this book inspiring. I totally agree. This author has done some seriously good writing, and I really enjoyed this book.
