Warning - going further is not recommended! Do not approach the volcano! But we could see a steaming cloud up ahead, promising views of molten lava. We looked right and noticed sulfuric fumes billowing up, bringing back warnings of “don’t get surrounded by lava”. As I looked left, I heard a yelp of surprise. This is not a book about rambling in Ireland. It tells the tale of one particular walking trip and the memories and musings it inspired. Exploring the West of Ireland is a time for meditation, spiritual reflection and strengthening the bonds of life. More practically the ability to read a map might have proved helpful.
