Noel Knight was a grazier from the Warrumbungles, near Coonabarabran NSW Australia. He was 31 when he began his tour with RAF Bomber Command during the hieight of the bombing offensive on Germany in 1943. Noel, a navigator in Lancaster bombers, survived his tour, winning the Distinguished Flying Cross, and returned to his pastoral pursuits. Many others were not so lucky.
