Need-for-chaos can manifest covertly as lateness, forgetfulness or clutter; or else it can show expressly in high-risk behaviors. Compulsive debt, promiscuity or need-for-mortal-danger may be part of the formula. The recoverer starts to see that he is seeking to compensate for neglect or emotional pain by getting lost in turmoil. He seeks to let go of unhappiness and to become his own caregiver.
