It’s Christmas Time Once Again


Walk in the falling snow
Your cheeks will have a rosy glow
Shop for the family presents
It will be an all day event

Everyone has lights shining
If they didn’t the kids would be whining
Relax with a glass of eggnog
Then write about it in your Facebook blog

Decorate the tree Friday night
When it’s lit it will be a beautiful site
Watch Christmas programs on TV
Starring Charlie Brown, Linus and Snoopy

Let’s make cookies for our friends
Don’t know what we’ll make, it just depends
It’s going to snow again tonight
Hopefully traveling won’t be a fright

Aren’t those colors bright and shiny?
Some bulbs are big, some are tiny
Tomorrow we can go to church
Listen to a sermon by Pastor Birk

Hear the true meaning of the season
Then maybe sing “We Are the Reason”
Merrily we go around 
Listening to different Christmas sounds

Appreciate the season’s joys
Lots of fun for girls and boys
Being good all year is their goal
Or they may get a lump of coal



                          Winter Wonderland


It’s a beautiful winter wonderland
Forget the beach and all the sand
The place to spend the weekend
Either with your spouse or with your friends

Just before we celebrate
Let’s take some time to meditate
Get into the spirit of Christmas
Including the story of ole St. Nicholas

There are wreaths hanging about
Most were put up by the local cub scouts
Christmas trees change colors
Underneath it are gifts for all of your brothers

What a spectacular sight to see
A reindeer at the entrance to greet you and me
Staying in the city of Rudolph
They have everything except a place to golf

We can choose to take a tour bus
And see decorations without a fuss
Or we can go for a walk in the snow
And stop by a Starbucks for a cup of Joe

Watch it snow out the windows
Against the lights it’s a pretty glow
Then go shopping at the general store
Our arms will be loaded with bags galore



                             A Cheery Evening


When the snowflakes fall so lightly
And the Christmas lights shine so brightly
Let the holiday cheer fill the air
And the Christmas music blare

Neighbors decorate their homes
With reindeer, snowmen, Santa and gnomes
Let’s wrap garland around the light pole
Then eat popcorn until we are full

Hang a wreath up in the hallway
Then maybe go out in the snow and play
Unpack the holiday decorations
Clean up the house with intense concentration

Light some candles and relax
Listen to Kenny G play his sax
The snow is falling quite heavily
Sometimes so hard you can’t even see

The gifts are being wrapped tonight
For Santa to pick up during his flight
End the day under the mistletoe
Then stay home ‘cos there’s nowhere to go

When the day becomes night
And we are feeling all right
I say that I love you my dear
Sit on the couch with me, right here

At the end of a busy day
We’ll go to Starbucks for a frappe
Then listen to Jay Leno’s monologue
While drinking a tall glass of eggnog
