About the Author

I am a 62 year old male that met Jesus over 30 years ago. I was considering suicide when Jesus found me and gave me a reason to live. Because I didn't have the answer then, it has made it easier to know that the only answer is Jesus through the power of His Spirit. I base my walk totally on: "Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord" (Zech 4:6). Not about me, but about Him. I have been privileged to receive from the Lord poetry with a message, and many articles as the Holy Spirit teaches me. I have had the honor of getting to preach occasionally, teach, and pray and see miracles from the Lord at times. I am considered a prayer warrior, as part of my calling has been that of an intercessor. I believe strongly that we have an enemy and that we have been given the keys to change our world for Jesus. The real key is making it about Him alone and building His kingdom as the Holy Spirit empowers and leads. I pray that something the Holy Spirit has given to me to write will be a blessing in some way to all that reads. May you be mightily blessed in Jesus as you follow only Him.

1. My Poetry

My poetry is
Just lesson’s that I have learned
Things that Jesus has taught me
That in my heart He has burned

I just try to set to rhyme
What Jesus has shared with me
Hopefully some things which I have learned
Will help others to be free

We have many experiences
In this thing called life
We learn a little wisdom
And find the vanity of our strife

My words are not so eloquent
But are quite simple to read
Hopefully easily understood
By all who do see

Hopefully they will help someone
To find a better way
That they will find new peace
To face another day.

2. Contentment

We are told to come out from among them
And be separate saith the Lord
These times will bring to us a change
And we will see God confirm His word

Jesus sometimes brings a separation
From the ones and things that we love
Just to draw us close to Him
So we will seek those things which are above

These times may be difficult
For self cannot have its way
Self must learn to give up its control
So the Holy Spirit may rule the day

During this time we will be taught
And many great lessons we will learn
Worldly things will no longer satisfy
As our spirit will for Jesus yearn

In the end we will learn contentment
In what ever state which we are in
We will be able to relax
And just totally trust in Him

Our life will no longer be based
On any outward thing
The Holy Spirit will then rule our life
And we will be pleased with whatever Jesus does bring

Godliness with contentment
Is truly a great gain
For circumstances no more will rule
So new heights in Jesus we will attain.

3. Daddy Said

Often I have times
That I must make a choice
But because of what Daddy said
I choose to hear His voice

I get tempted like all
But I’m told to the temptation flee
But because of what Daddy said
I’m learning that what He says, is best for me

I’m told to forgive
When a wrong to me is rendered
If I hold anything against another
Daddy said, my prayers would be hindered

I’m told to pray for the one
That me, they despitefully used
Because Daddy said
This I try to do

I’m told to love my brother
And give to Him grace, not put him in jail
Daddy said that love does no ill
And that love will never fail

I’m told to walk in the spirit
Single-minded in thought
Daddy said, listen to my voice
And the problems will come to naught

I’m told to not give place to the devil
But from him flee
Daddy said, that His spirit is life
The devils’ is out to kill, steal, and destroy, me

You may wonder why some things I will not do
Though opportunities come every day
It is because I have learned that what Daddy said
Is the truth, the light, and the way

Daddy said that I am to give
And it would be given back to me
And if I walk in His power
He would do exceedingly abundantly

I have learned over the years
That what Daddy said is always the best
So I am out to please Him alone
And let Him take care of all the rest

Unlike my earthly daddy
My Heavenly one knows all things
He wants only good for me
And has the power for the blessing to bring

I choose to listen to the Holy Spirit
And know revelation of what He would say
Because my Daddy said
I choose a spiritual pathway

I do not even know how to pray
Except the Holy Spirit take control
Daddy said, that it is not about me
Nor the natural things which I know

I’ve learned that if I will listen to what Daddy said
Through His Holy Spirit voice
That I will be taught right things
And able to make the right choice

You see, Daddy empowers me
To overcome all my sin
And there is no greater joy
Than to have fellowship with Him

Because Daddy said
Is the best reason that I know
He is a loving Father
And with Him I choose to go.

4. Greed

What moves your heart?
Is it your own greed?
Or does compassion come
When you see your brother in need?

What is your joy?
Is it what self can possess?
Or is it how can you help
To see God’s will, manifest?

Greed is only about
Heaping treasure for a selfish one
It shows no love or mercy
It shows no likeness of God’s Son

Greed is always taking
With a motive that is impure
It matters not that another is hungry
They are just told to endure

If by greed one actually does give
It is only to get back more
Its motive is in self-love
And the lie they are living for

Real life is learning
To give everything away
Greed will only bring
Living a dead mans way

If you desire to find life
Then these words you better heed
You must learn to turn loose of all
And do what Jesus said “Come and follow Me”.

5. In A Strait Betwixt Two

Jesus, I may not always know
But of this I am sure
No matter how things go
Through You I will endure

Though I know your promises
The time and season is yours alone
Whether I stay on earth today
Or whether today, you take me home

When I am sick
And in bed I lay
My body may be in pain
Yet I trust in what you did say

You said that you would perfect
That which concerneth me
So whether here or in Heaven
I leave that decision to thee

If my work on earth is done
Then to Heaven then I will go
And be with Jesus
For in my heart I know that this is so

If there is more work here
That you have for me to do
Then I know that you will come
And my health, renew

Either way I can only win
So there is no fear
I seem to be in a strait betwixt the two
Which way it will go, it’s unclear

If I wake another day
Then there must be a reason
Father, may your will alone be done
I praise and thank you for this season.

6. Life

Many people think that strange
Are the words that I do write
But I have learned that there is a Heaven
And a place of pure darkness of night

Yet some people think that true life
Is being led by their head
Even though God made them a spirit
They have believed a lie and are misled

A relationship with God
Is always to man a choice
He can listen to his flesh
Or learn to listen to God’s voice

He can look only at temporal things
That will only satisfy his carnal lust
Or he can look at eternal things
And do the things that he must

Life is not really about
You nor me
It is bringing God’s kingdom to earth
So people will become eternally free

It is not about what we want
It is about finding and walking in God’s will
God has greater things in store
That we may find if we learn to before Him be still

It is being led by the Holy Spirit
And sensitive to His voice
To know what God would have to say
It is merely for man a choice

Some think that Christians
A crutch they only use
They say the mind should control
All the things which we do

As long as you believe
That life is only about you
You’ll never enter the kingdom of Heaven
And the greater works do

You will spend your life
Void of God’s power
And never really know
A Holy Spirit shower

God has a plan and purpose
For every one whom He made
Yet some will never enter in
As God’s Spirit they continually evade

They choose their own agenda
And will not allow the Holy Spirit to lead
They refuse to die to self
And on their flesh nature feed

When life is over
And we receive our heavenly call
Maybe the words which I wrote
Won’t seem so strange after all.

7. Raindrops

The natural rain falls
To soften the ground
Even the deepest of roots
Can then be dug up and found

The rain falls
To cleanse all that is seen
Of the dirt and grime
That once again all may be shiny and clean

The Holy Spirit rain
Falls on every heart
As we pray and intercede
For our prayers are the raindrops

The raindrops penetrate
Even the hardest of hearts
As the soil of the heart is softened
The Lord can work His art

The strongholds come down
And the enemy must leave
When we pray and do warfare
And on God’s Word, believe

Some hearts are harder
So this takes more time
We then just stand by faith
With patience, and trust in the divine

He is gentle and kind
As He knows how much each can take
So He gently and steadily rains
Till a new heart He does make

When you see the raindrops fall
A smile should come on to your face
As you will know that your prayers
Have helped others, in Jesus, to find their place.

8. Silver and Gold

Silver and gold have I none
But such as I have I do give
My job is to help set you, spiritually free
So in Jesus, you may live

God has anointed me to intercede
So that your captivity no longer will be
He has called me to set at liberty
Those that have been bound, by the enemy

It is at times a very tough job
Though many never see
All the hours of intercession and war
Just to break through spiritually

I am usually judged as the world does see
By the amount of money or possessions I own
These things in themselves mean little to me
As my reward will be at Heaven’s throne

Silver and gold cannot buy
The peace that you can find
When your spirit is free and walking in harmony
With God’s power divine.

9. That Still Small Voice

That still small voice
Is given by God
To be a protection and help
When through this world, we have trod

Many times
There are dangers ahead
That still small voice will warn us
If we will listen, we will be led

That still small voice will give wisdom
When a decision we must make
Though we have much knowledge
Wisdom says which path to take

That still small voice gives us knowledge
When for another we need to pray
As we yield and act on what we are told
We can change a brother or sister’s day

That still small voice gives us direction
If we are willing to listen and learn
Direction that leads us to life
When we don’t seem to know, which way to turn

That still small voice will guide us
When provision we do need
Though it may not be a direct way
Each step we must heed

That still small voice will bring comfort
When all seems undone
As He is the Holy Spirit comforter
And He will comfort the hurting one

That still small voice will tell us
The words that we need to say
To the hurting one
That seems to have lost their way

That still small voice will teach us
The way we need to talk
Words that will be anointed with God’s power
Instead of a religious walk

That still small voice brings victory
And an end to all of our strife
Yet, that still small voice must be yielded to
If we are to enter into, true life.

We must train our self to listen
To that still small voice
It is not automatic
It comes with our choice.

10. The Bee Attack

The other day
While getting wood
I had a surprise
That to do without, I could

I picked up a log
And got stung by a bee
Oh that sure did hurt
Between two fingers, it got me

I didn’t give it much thought
Though it itched, burned, and swelled
I figured that I would be fine
Since being stung before, Oh well

I awoke at night
With and itch, swelling, and excruciating pain
I couldn’t breath and had cold chills,
And I wondered was I going to live again?

All I could do was cry out
Jesus, I am in trouble here
Unless it is my time
I sure need You here

All the sudden
The pain was all gone
Within a few minutes
I was singing again, sleeps song

I didn’t think about it much
But then later realized
The hand that was stung
Was the one with, I write rhyme

It didn’t stop me
Though it tried very strong
But Jesus is still my Lord
And my writing will go on

Next thing I knew
A family member
Attacked me with words
Trying my faith, to dismember

For nearly two days I wrestled with doubt
It seems that the enemy
Is trying to shut my mouth
From the words in my heart to say

I know that when obedient to Gods will
That many attacks to stop me will come
But I am thoroughly convinced that he cannot succeed
Since I am covered by the Blood, of God’s Son.

12. The Divine Puzzle

The body of Christ is a divine puzzle
With each member as a piece
Until all the pieces come together
The true picture, we will never see

Each piece is important
As the puzzle includes every race
Each piece has a part to play
Each color has its divine place

Each piece brings new insight
And the anointing of the Lord
It brings what the Lord is saying together
And a deeper understanding of His Word

We often try to use what our piece alone has
And just act independently
When God has given to us all we need
Oh, that we could just work, corporately

We need each piece to see the full picture
So together we may move towards the goal
To see the demonic delivered and all the sick healed
And the saving of every soul

Sometimes we need to just stop and think
When we see a puzzle on the table
That we alone are just one piece
We should only do what the Holy Spirit does enable

Not one piece has all the answers
Not one piece is able to save every soul
Each piece has a different call
So that Jesus, the world, may come to know

As we as the church allow this divine puzzle to interlock
And walk in true unity
We will then come to realize the greater works
That Jesus said that would be

I am grateful to the Lord
That He has chosen me to be one piece
And for all the ones that He has used me to touch
And all the hurting souls through me He did reach.

I am just one piece of the divine puzzle
I need you and you need me
So God help us all to walk together
And see all the captives find liberty.

13. The Gal In Wheeling

If there was a gal in wheeling
That in her knee she had no feeling
If she said that she could not pray
Since she had such trouble kneeling

Jesus, one day must have passed by
And asked her, you cannot pray why?
She said it is my knee
On the floor I can’t be

Jesus in all His grace
Must have looked her in the face
And said to her it is true
Without feeling, praying, you just cannot do

The moral of this story is this
Excuses will cause us to miss
All which God has in store
For excuses, there will always be more

You can pray in any state
Whether standing or kneeling
It is the with the heart and spirit
It is not based on how the flesh is feeling

Prayer and praise
Is an act of our will
Unless we are determined
We will always be still.

13. The Making of a Church

Church is a place
Where Jesus should be Lord
All of man’s agenda
Will never fulfill Gods Word

As we learn to be humble
And allow the Holy Spirit to lead
And seek first Gods Kingdom
It is then many will be freed

All things must start with prayer
To find out what God desires
We then must wait till we are empowered
So we can walk in His strength, not ours

We will do much intercession
And warfare against principalities
First, we must take back what is ours in the spirit
If real victory in the natural, we want to see

The Holy Spirit will lead
If we will do things Gods way
For God has a plan that will work
We must just follow each and every day

We must learn to love
Each and every person God brings
We must learn to forgive
And not allow an offense against anything

We must learn to be humble
And have a servant heart
We must learn to give others the grace
That the Holy Spirit will through us impart

The cares of the world must not rule
If we want the Holy Spirit to lead
Our focus must be how that we may give
To see a captive set free

We must get the mind of Christ
And act at His command
If we are going to gain for all
This promised promise land

The Holy Spirit will lead
If we just learn to follow
He will take us deep
No more will we be shallow

Jesus himself came not to do His own will
But said He came to do His Fathers will alone
If Jesus had to do this, then shouldn’t we?
Instead of us doing things on our own?

14. The Reason I Live

The reason I live
Is not to build my own kingdom
It is to see God’s Kingdom come
And to bring Glory to His Son

The reason I live
Is because of Jesus Christ alone
As He forgave me
And all my sin did He atone

The reason I live
Is to walk in His love
And to hopefully always show
His grace from above

The reason I live
Is for others to be set free
For He alone is worthy
And does give, true liberty.

15. There’s Nobody Like You Lord

No man or machine
Nor any worldly thing
Can ever replace
The love that you do bring

No worldly acclaim
Nor any fame
Can ever be as dear to me
Or in my heart be the same
There’s nobody like you Lord

I feel like I fail
So often miserably
I go my own way
When your way I cannot see

My heart just breaks
When I don’t know you are near
Oh that I would always be able
Your words to hear
There is nobody like you Lord

Nothing that I
Could ever do
Will ever replace
What I’ve found in you

Your grace and your love
Always gives to me strength
You forever hold my hand
As undeserving as I am
There is nobody like you Lord

Oh that some day
When I see your face
I’ll know it is only
Because of your grace

All that I am to be
I humbly place
In your hands alone
That I may finish my race
There is nobody like you Lord

There is nobody like you Lord
Through time and space
That ever showed to me such love
And always gave to me such grace

There is nobody like you Lord
Nor will there ever be
So I look forward to life
In Heaven with you eternally

There is nobody like you, Lord.

16. We Poets

We poets are a peculiar bunch
As we desire God’s words to heed
So that we can just pen the words
For hurting hearts to read

Sometimes we tell a story
As did Jesus when He did teach
It is just another way to make the message clear
To the hurting souls we desire to reach

Sometimes we may write words that may seem harsh
Yet these are words that must be said
For Jesus desires His people to be set free
That by His Spirit they may be led

Sometimes we get words
Which are warnings of things ahead
So that people may change their views
And allow Jesus once again to be the head

Other times we get words
That will bring healing to broken hearts
As people yield to the Holy Spirit
Their life will find a new start

Sometimes we get words
Just to encourage the one that has been so down
The words somehow bring a new smile
In place of the sad-faced frown

We also may get words
To teach others how to fight
And make their stand for Jesus
To bring them out from darkness to the light

We poets, yes, may be different
Yet we seek to edify
And bring the prisoners from the prison house
That they may find new life

We don’t write these words for money
We write in obedience and love
For we desire God’s children to find
New freedom from up above

Our satisfaction is gained
When we pleased Jesus our Lord
And when we are allowed to hear
That a hurting heart was changed forevermore

Our motive must not be for recognition
A pat on the back or fame
For many people just don’t read poems
They seem to think it’s lame

It is just like the Lord to use
Something much of the world pushes away
Yet there must be coming a time
When God’s words will rule the day

Often the Holy Spirit speaks to us
Through the words we attempt to write
Of areas that also are in our lives
Which are not complete or right

When you read the words we write
I pray that you will give to us grace
And just allow the Holy Spirit room to speak
Maybe some words will help you run your race
.
Yes, we poets may be a different breed
Yet God’s love is in our heart
We are just a small limb of the whole body
And by God’s grace are just attempting, to do our part.

17. Wounded Warriors

The battle is tough sometimes
At times we see our comrades fall
Some give their life
Just answer God’s call

Others are wounded
And are deeply in pain
Do we just let them lay there?
Or do we help them to stand again?

Do we lecture and say
All the things that they did wrong
If you had only done this
You would still be standing strong

Or do we go to them in love
A harsh word we never say
And cover their wounds
And help them once again to find their way

Do we go to Jesus
And intercede on their behalf
And seek the answers
So that they once again may laugh

We need all of our warriors
To fight this battle we fight
Sure maybe some walk wrong
Yet they only can walk in what they know is right

To come at them with your sword
And more wounds to them inflict
Puts you in the enemy camp
We are called to heal; not others make sick

I wonder that if
We saw Jesus sitting in the room
Would our words change?
Would we be so fast to inflict a wound?

We are called to restore in love
All the hurting souls
By laying down our lives for them
Till the spirits and sickness goes

Next time you see a brother
That God has used in your life
Admit that he has a problem somewhere
Will you condemn and judge or help him make it right?

There are many wounded warriors
That man has cast aside
Instead of restoring them in love
We push them away to die.
