Camp Triple Joshua Peterson Wes Schlett Chapter 1 My Birthday If what happens in this story happens to you, don’t tell anybody or trust anybody. If anybody finds out, you will be put on the wrong team. Hello, I am Michael Vice. I am a thirteen years old and 4 feet- 7 inches tall. I have brown hair to my ears, light brown skin, and blue eyes. I lived in the state of Colorado. Boom, boom, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh….! It’s Thursday June 30, 2008 and I turned thirteen today. It is an hour before my birthday party which was supposed to be outside. From my parents I got a puppy that is a Dandie Dinmont Terrier named Dandy but I call him Dan. I also got a brand new laptop that was the best in the store and one ticket to Athens, Greece. Then it started to rain, so we had to get everything inside. We kept the door open which wasn’t a good idea because the dog ran out with out me noticing before the door was closed. Ten minutes later I hear yelping, and I looked out the window and saw poor little Dan outside. So I opened the door but he wouldn’t come in. I got a towel and went outside to go pick him up and bring him inside and dry him off. Then he had a sad face and looked out the door. I saw his favorite toy so Dan and I went out to go get the toy. Then lighting struck Dan and I. I was pale as bleach and then I fell to the ground. Five minutes later, my mom found me lying in the backyard all wet. She carried me inside with a towel. People were starting to arrive for the party so I dried off and put dry clothes on. Then I noticed a lighting bolt on my chest. I heard the door open so I quickly put on my clothes, and ran downstairs. The lights had been turned off and I was so confused. Then everybody yelled “Happy Birthday Alex J-Bob”. I was surprised! First, we opened presents and the presents were so cool. But when the last present came and I was ready to open it, a cake flied right into my face and I started to laugh. Then Joe said, “That was your present.” Then we played the Wii and on the laptops I told everybody to bring. The last thing we did was eat the cake which was chocolate with melted fudge through the middle. Everyone was full after they ate one piece. Then everyone left and the house was a mess. Then my hand started to move as fast as light cleaning the room. My mom said, “How did you do that so fast?” I said “I don’t know?” I had amazed myself! Chapter 2 The Flight On Friday morning, I’m blinking my eye. The lights are flashing, the glass is broken, the door is about to be catch on fire. There is no ceiling, just the sky. I look out of the window and see water under my room and my carpet turns to dirt. Then a big mouth from the ground eats me alive, and I’m screaming for my life. Then I start to go underwater and I can’t swim to the top. I start to drown and then I sink to the bottom and pass out. When I wake up I am in my normal room but I have no shirt on. “Whew it was just a dream” I said! I looked at my chest and the lighting bolt had changed to two swords crossing with a shield with a capital G in the middle of it. “Okay, that is scary but I’m still saying it’s a dream.” I say. I got up and put on my shirt and packed my cloths in a suitcase to go to Athens, Greece. After I’m done packing, I started to do research on the Parthenon. After a while my mom says we have to go and I put my laptop and brochures in my backpack. Everyone helped put my suitcases in the car. Our plane lifts off at three P.M., so we eat breakfast before we go to the airport. “You can get lunch at the airport” my mom says. After we arrived to the airport, we had to find my terminal. After we find my terminal, which is L57, we went to buy lunch. At 2:30 they start to let people go onto the plane. When I got in the plane, I find my seat and put my backpack under it. I’m very excited about my trip and am looking forward to exploring Athens. “Please buckle your seat belts, we’re ready for take-off” the pilot says. The engines start with a loud roar, the plane moves forward and speed up. The front wheel lifts off the ground, then the back wheels lift. We start to go higher and higher. When we were high enough in the air, I get out my laptop to study more about Athens. “Oww”, people are saying as their ears popped. The wheels hit the ground and bounce everybody all around. After we get to the gate, I get all my things and walk out. I get in a taxi to go to the Grande Bretagne Hotel, which was one of the best in Athens. I looked at the driver and he had one eye, at that moment I blinked and he didn’t have one eye, he had two. When I arrived at the Hotel I checked in and went to my room. It was really fancy and had lots of cool things like a flat-screen TV and an Xbox. I was tired from the trip, so I jumped into bed and took a nap. Chapter 3 The Tour I feel fresh after my nap! I grab my backpack with my laptop, keys to hotel room, and a bunch of brochures. I head to the front of the hotel and start waving to get a taxi’s attention. When I get in to the taxi, I ask the driver to take me to the Parthenon. After a scary ride through all the traffic, I went to pay the driver and I noticed he had three eyes. I blinked my eyes three times but he still had three eyes. I slapped myself, but he still had three eyes. I threw him the money and started running away from the taxi. When I got to the Parthenon I was out of breath. After resting, I checked to find out what time the next tour was. I had to wait about 15 minutes and the tour guide finally showed up. The person who was leading the tour was tall, about 6 feet 5 inches. He knew a lot about the Parthenon and I learned some really interesting things from him, especially about the statue of Athena. After the tour the guide said, “You may meander around”. I found a door and opened it, but it seemed like an endless hallway. I closed the door behind me and then it locked by itself. The hallway walls are covered with different kinds of sword. I find the two best swords and charge at the door with both swords facing the door. Just before the sword hits the door, the door disappears making the sword go in to the ground. The ground turns to gravel and the ceiling is gone and the sky and the walls turns to waves. Behind me is a huge black hole…..my feet lift off the ground…..the ground starts to shake. A crack starts where my swords have hit the ground and I fall into darkness and yell for help. “HELP” Chapter 4 The Cavern I couldn’t see a thing and I yelled “Hello?” It turns out that I had my eyes closed, so I opened them and I saw a dull glow in the darkness, then I heard the most beautiful music in my life. I heard two people whispering to each other, a man and a woman. The Man said, “Eurydice…is it he?” “I think so.” The Man said. I Asked “Wait, Wait, Wait! Do you mean Eurydice as in Orpheus and Eurydice?” Eurydice sighed. “Yes, it is true, Orpheus and I have fallen in love and while we were having our Wedding I-.” “I know, I know, you got bit by a snake and you were sent to the Underworld and Orpheus made a deal with Hades and it was if you turned back, I pointed to Orpheus and she disappeared,” I said. “Yes, Yes that is us you don’t need to tell the story about us we already Know” Orpheus said. Then I said to my self, I in a dream wake up, wake up. Then Eurydice and Orpheus fade into the darkness and the setting changed and there I saw myself a baby. I try to call my mom but it look like she couldn’t hear me, but then I saw the scarcest thing happen to me as a baby. Then some knock at the door and My mom but me down and when she is turn around I get zapped by lightning and then I’m frozen solid and then the water next to the me is town right at my mom and then it stops in midair and goes back to the cup. The image fade away, in to a dark glow and I heard whispering but I couldn’t make it out but it got louder and louder until I thought it was about Ten feet away from me but all I could make out was, “That was no dream, that was a flash back,” thought I was hearing Orpheus but when I turned around I fell to the ground, then I everything went dark and I knew I had fainted. Chapter 5 The Camp When I woke up I couldn’t see but it felt like something was going down my throat, then I try to open my eyes but I still couldn’t see. So I felt my eye and it was open I started to say, “I’m blind, I’m blind.” Then I Heard someone say, “Your not blind.” That was when I could see and I saw two people, a person who looked like Helios, and a man. Then I sat up and the man said, “Jason, do you remember me your fencing coach, my name is Hercules and this here is Helios.” I said, “Yes I do remember you and you are the strong of all mortal and I know all about your twelve quest. He is Helios the god of sun, the son of Hyperion, you mean him.” Yes I’m the god of sun,” said Helios. “I will be your tour guide and my name is Lushis, and I am the son Hermes the god messengers,” said a boy. The first thing that we saw was a the mess hall, “ that is the mess hall and every meal you will eat here, sometimes you can eat in one of you cabins,” lushis said. I said
