Sonal Raje

Sonal Raje is a professional visual artist based in Canada. She has a degree in applied arts. She works in the Acrylic and Encaustic mediums and has continued to explore new techniques to enhance her art. Her artistic mission is to create works of art that relate to finding a sense of peace and harmony in diverse and unpredictable conditions. She draws inspiration from nature and life experiences to find parallels of this vision. With a new perspective, she continues to be actively involved in the local art associations, as well as participating in global ventures that promote the Arts. Her work has been exhibited in Art shows in India, Europe and Canada.

Art Critique

Sonal Raje’s art is mainly abstract and conveys a dreamy atmosphere, with a wise alternation of warm and cold palettes such as the golden and yellow scales, although she seems to prefer cold colors. Her brush work is almost imperceptible and this artist also shows a mastery in blending colors.

Abyss I. Acrylic painting. (C) Sonal Raje

In Abyss I, for instance, Sonal Raje expresses perfectly the combination of highly tactile color and blending, softening work. In this painting the consistency of the greens and the white contrasts with the thin, watery aspect of the red and yellow, thus creating a vortex that captures the attention of the viewer towards the dark center of the painting.
Sensual lines and lines of interest in the composition of Abyss I also contribute in creating the dreamy and captivating atmosphere in Sonal Raje’s art.
