He was named Sockmonkey. Sockmonkey went out to the woods one day, And he said ‘Would somebody like to play?” The owl was asleep in his nest in the trees, He was sleeping so soundly that you could hear the busy bees. When Sockmonkey realised that his friend, the owl, was asleep, He decided not to walk around, but creep. The bats he admired, the snakes in the grass, All formed a barrier so Sockmonkey couldn’t pass. “Oh, my, dear snakes,” he said with a whisper, The snakes hissed a “Hiss” that couldn’t have been crisper. Sockmonkey decided to find a different wood, So he crept out of the wood, As quietly as he could.
