Mysteries of the Kingdom (Discovering the Deep Things of God - Book 1)

In a land far away, every young male lion, excluding the royal family that reaches seven months old is banished into the Great Great Wild Jungle.

Young Ola was also banished when he was seven months old.

While wandering in the Great Great Wild Jungle, Ola caught a prey and tied it down to a tree stomp because he wasn’t ready for another meal until later.

At night came a fog and a pillar of smoky cloud.

The young lion was confused.

His prey suggested,
"If I am free like you now, I will take up this advantage and go into the pillar of smoky cloud!"

"Therein lays a world that many in this land dream of".

Ola took the risk and did as his prey suggested.

Alas, he actually found himself in a new world;

A world of erotic pleasure.

The young lion walked past them all and struggled to reach the front of the crowd.

He ignored the temptations of the moment that surrounded him. He got to the front of a crowd that was lost in its alluring lust.

On the throne before him was a young handsome boy, the god of lust.

He welcomed Ola into the paradise of lust and wondered why the young lion refused to oblige himself the chance of enjoying the pleasure that many dream of.

Ola told the god of lust that all he needs is his destiny map. This he believes will show him the way to his destination.

The god of lust agreed to give him the map and told him to step on the hot engraving stone press in front of his throne.

The young lion had to summon courage to step on the burning map stone press with his legs.

Ola’s dream map was being permanently engraved on his right foot. He cried, shouted and roared aloud closing his eyes while he endured the pain of the heat.

The words of the god of lust sank into his head like echoes of thunder,

"Well done and farewell brave one, hold on to your sense of focus, and you’ll surely get to your destination; the entire multitude you saw here were all great and mighty heroes and heroines of the past..."

"...but none of them will get to their destination because they have fallen; they have been distracted with the temptations of life and temporary pleasures. They are all trapped in my world of pleasure forever, ever, ever, ever... till the end of days."

The young lion opened his eyes to see the sun rising from the east at the dawn of a new day. He then stopped his shouts, found himself in another part of the Great Great Wild Jungle. His body was just transforming back to normal from the wood shape it has adopted while he was being transfigured in the paradise of lust.

The pillar of smoky cloud had moved him from his last location to position him on his path to destiny.

Ola looked down bending to see his right foot where his map of destiny was deeply engraved. The map will guide him on his journey to where the Maker of All has destined him to be. When he wakes each day, he studies his Destiny Map before he embarks on his journey.

Just on time, at the appointed time, he got to his destination.

He saw great and mighty lions both of old as well as of recent celebrating his arrival.

He has finally gotten to where a throne and a mansion were already prepared for him.

Ola was grateful to the Maker of All who has put his name and song on the lips of everybody and for making him to see his time of glory. While he was dancing and rejoicing with the congregation of the victorious, he heard voice of the Maker of All. It echoed like the sound of many waters and trumpets,

"Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the eternal joy of your Maker and Master; this is the beginning of your eternal destiny and joy."

"Savor and embrace your new reality, world and eternal home".

The End.

A few sample chapters of Mysteries of the Kingdom - Discovering the Deep Things of God Book 1
Section 1

Mysteries of the Kingdom
What are the Mysteries of the Kingdom?

Mysteries are unknown and Deep Things of God. A mystery is a secret. It is anything that is hidden, concealed, veiled, buried, masked or covered from plain sight. Kingdom mysteries are kept out of sight. They are invisible to the naked eye, unseen to a carnal person, obscure to the natural man
A Kingdom is an empire, a realm, a monarchy, sovereignty, or a territory. It is a King’s dominion over his domain.
In the context of this book, ”The Kingdom” is the Kingdom of God on earth. It is governed by the Kingdom of Heaven.
“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9, 10
Jesus is the center of God’s Kingdom here on earth. While He was on earth, the Kingdom of God was the central theme of his message. The Kingdom of God on earth is brought into bear via man’s acceptance of His Son, Jesus Christ. The birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ into glory restored God’s rulership over man. The kingdom is therefore the physical manifestation of the rule of God as King over mankind.
Although God’s Kingdom is presently partially seen and experienced, it will be an absolute and complete reality in the world to come. This will be during the Millennial Reign of Christ when Jesus will reign as the King of kings over planet Earth after the second coming of Christ. (See Revelation 21, 22).
The Kingdom of God is everywhere on earth or in Heaven wherein God’s will is done. It is established in our hearts and becomes our lifestyle when we allow God’s will to be done in our daily lives!
“And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:20, 21

Why do we Have Mysteries in the Kingdom?

i.	It is the Glory of God to Hide
“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: ...” Proverbs 25:2
You see, God loves to create things. Everything He creates is good and beautiful. He creates treasures and wonders and then keeps them. The scripture records, “… and God saw that it was good” (See Genesis 1:4, 10, 12, 18, 21, 25, 31). In these Scriptures, God said that all He has created were good. The treasures He created are however hidden from the surface.
ii.	It is the Honour of Kings to Discover
“…but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.” Proverbs 25:2
God hides treasures. As kings, our responsibility is to search for them until they are discovered. It is our honour to search and discover what God has kept in secret places.
The scripture says that we are kings.
“And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 1:6
“And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” Revelation 5:10
iii.	The Secret Things Belong to God
“The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 29:29
Come to think of it, countless treasures and riches are hidden in the depth of the vast oceans, in the secret places of the wilderness, inside rocks and mountains, in concealed areas of valleys, as well as the depth of the earth crust. No wonder, the scripture declares,
“The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.” Hosea 2:8
Everything belongs to Him. He even owns the cattle upon a thousand hills.
“For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.”
Psalm 50:10
All we have to do is to search until we discover them. I just love the word of God to us. It has more than everything that we can ever need or desire. Jesus revealed this secret to us while He was still in the flesh.
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:7, 8
iv.	Finding the Hidden Brings Joy
“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:” 1 Corinthians 2:7
“Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.” Proverbs 3:13
Any time we discover a hidden treasure, our heart is overwhelmed with joy. Our Father in Heaven loves to make us happy. He sometimes plays “hide and seek” with us so that our joy will be full each time we find what was once hidden from us. Isn’t it so amazing to have a joy-giving God as our Father!
The other day, my wife, Martha, was briefly out of the house to get something from a neighbouring street. I was carrying Mayo, our one month old baby, and his big sister, Misi who will be four years old a month after then, was feeling neglected. She started placing a demand on my attention. We then both agreed to play “hide and seek” game.
She hid herself beside the four foot high Color Laserjet printer in my home studio. I came looking for her, with Mayo in my hands, and found her right there as soon as I entered the studio. She yelled, “You’ve found me daddy. It’s now my turn to seek you.” She also sought and found Mayo and I by the side of the cupboard in the room. She was so thrilled to have found her dad and baby brother after an attempt to seek them.
Kingdom lifestyle is not boring. We become excited when we seek and find the hidden riches of the Kingdom. Our Father in Heaven has put a system in place so that we will always have an exhilarating moment in His presence anytime we seek and find Him.
Who should discover the Mysteries of the Kingdom?

The mysteries of the Kingdom should be discovered by everyone in the Kingdom. Every child of God that is born of the spirit is given the privilege of knowing the meaning of the mysteries of the Kingdom.
“He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.” Matthew 13:11
“And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:” Mark 4:11
“And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.” Luke 8:10
“Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.” 1 Corinthians 4:1
Every believer is a minister as well as a steward of the mysteries of God.
How can we discover the Mysteries of the Kingdom?

The mysteries of the Kingdom can be discovered through:
i.	God’s Word
The Bible, God’s word, is the greatest Kingdom Manual. It is life’s handbook and therefore must be consulted on a daily basis. The scripture says,
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8
ii.	The Holy Spirit
“But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:10
The Spirit of God shows us all we need to know about God, ourselves and all those that are around us per time. Holy Spirit reveals the mysteries of the Kingdom to all those who open up their hearts to Him. He knows all things because he was there when God was creating all things. The more we obey him and acknowledge his ministry, the deeper he reveals to us the mind of Christ.
iii.	Prayer
Prayer is one of the ways of communicating with God. Communication is never complete until there is a feedback. Whenever we wait on God in prayer, He in return waits on us by revealing Kingdom mysteries to us. The scripture says,
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
iv.	Fellowship
Anytime we have fellowship together with one another, God reveals Himself to us. The scripture says,
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20
When can we discover the Mysteries of the Kingdom?

“The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 29:29
The mysteries of the Kingdom are meant to be discovered by everyone in the Kingdom throughout their stay on planet earth. This means that we must continually seek the mind of God every day of our lives.
Which of the Mysteries of the Kingdom is the Greatest?

“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2
The mystery of love is the greatest in the Kingdom. This is because God Himself is Love and it’s all about Him. He is the King of all the kings in the Kingdom. Agape, God-kind of love, is the greatest in the Kingdom.
“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.” Mark 12:30
See ‘The Mystery of Love’ in the next section of this book for more.

Section 2

1. Mystery of Ravens

“And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.” 1 Kings 17:2-6
Ravens fed Elijah. Ravens are known to be very selfish birds. They are so stingy that they hardly feed their babies. It is through this unexpected means that God chose to feed His servant, Elijah - a man who operated by Kingdom principles - in a time of famine. God often uses the unusual as well as the unexpected to meet the needs of His people. As a Kingdom citizen, expect God’s move and supply in unanticipated ways; ways beyond man’s comprehension.

2. Mystery of Harvest

Harvest is the time to reap whatever has been sown. It is the moment a farmer is rewarded for all his labour after sowing and maintaining his farm. Everybody is always sowing something, either knowingly or unknowingly. This is a secret of the Kingdom we all have to be fully aware of.
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7
Several other religions also pay a good attention to this mystery because they have recognized the trend from what they see every day and from one season to the other. Some call it the law of Karma.
“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;” Genesis 8:22
“A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;” Ecclesiastes 3:2

Also See ‘Mystery of Death’ for more insights.

3. Mystery of Procreation

Life in the Kingdom has been programmed by God for reproduction. God’s first pronouncement on man after creating him was that of increase.
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28
The force of procreation was therefore at work in every living thing that God made. It was at work in Adam and Eve as well as in every seed of mankind.
“And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.” Genesis 4:1, 2
Beyond giving birth to young ones, we can also give birth to creative ideas, witty inventions as well as noble causes. Just like a mother who just put to birth, our heart is saturated with joy when we see a brain child of ours being fulfilled. My prayer for you this day is that the Lord will cause you to bring forth after your kind biologically, spiritually, materially and mentally, in Jesus’ name!
“Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.” Isaiah 66:8, 9

4. Mystery of Protection

The other day, I was strolling down our street with Misi, my four year old daughter. It was a sunny afternoon and the sun was scorching. We weren’t with an umbrella, so I told her to stay under my shadow till we get back home. She did not feel the heat of the sun all because she was hiding under my shadow.
There is a secret of protection in the Kingdom. Protection is certain when we learn to stay in God’s presence continually. The scriptures declare:
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.” Psalm 91:1-16
I have experienced God’s protection in my life on several occasions over the years just because I have learnt to spend time in His presence. For years, I have never missed my attendance in our church services.
In the month of March, 2011, while I was still writing this book, God protected my family from an acid explosion in my apartment. My wife and daughter had just gone to get some items from the market. I was in the living room when I heard a loud sound of explosion on the passage to the kitchen. It was the 100aH dry cell battery of our inverter that was sitting on a high rack in the passage that exploded, splashing hot acid all over the passage ceiling, wall, windows and floor.
Right below the rack was my daughter’s tricycle standing. Misi usually ride the tricycle in this same location except occasionally when we are with her in the open space in front of our apartment during the day. She was supposed to be at home playing but just decided to go to the market with the mum.
Last year, in our previous neighborhood, armed robberies were rampart. Armed robbers were raiding several homes and various streets over a period of months. During those times, there were cases of beatings, raping and even killings while the armed robbers attacked. One of those days, they also broke into our premises, armed with guns. They broke down the burglaries and doors. God protected us and we weren’t harmed.
On countless occasions, God has protected me from motor accidents, various dangers and attacks all because I spend time in His presence.

5. Mystery of Ministering Angels

This is another mystery that many Christians today are not maximizing. Some believe angels are no more real, that they only existed and operated in Bible days. On the other hand, some people have gone astray by worshiping angels. The Bible tells us that angels are ministering spirits. We are not supposed to worship angels. The scriptures declare:
“And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” Hebrews 1:7, 13, 14
The writer of the book of Hebrews referred to what was written by the Psalmist, “Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:” in Psalm 104:4. Angels are meant to minister to us who have become as well as those who will be heirs of salvation. The ministry of angels was enjoyed by our Lord Jesus when he was on earth.
Angel Gabriel took the news of his birth to Mary in Luke 1:26-38.
Angels heralded his birth to the shepherds in the field in Luke 2:8-18.
“And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.” Luke 2:15
Angels confirmed his ministry to Nathaniel.
“And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.” John 1:51
They ministered to him after he was tempted of the devil.
“Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.” Matthew 4:11
An angel strengthened him when he was in agony at the garden of Gethsemane.
“Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.” Luke 22:42-43
They confirmed his resurrection.
“And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.” John 20:12
“And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.” Luke 24:23
The book of the Acts of the Apostles also recorded several operations of the ministry of angels. You and I can also enjoy the vast benefits of this secret.
I recently witnessed this ministry in the life of our second child, Mayo, while he was just two months old. My wife and I were crossing the road while there was traffic along the road that leads to our house. The devil set an ambush to take away our baby’s life. The helm of Martha’s long skirt got hooked to the mid road demarcation and Mayo fell to the other side right in front of a public transport bus’ front left wheel. Immediately, the cars ahead of the bus moved forward. Public transport buses’ drivers in the busy city of Lagos, Nigeria are known for reckless driving. The bus also moved forward.
I saw our baby, moved from beneath the bus in front of the wheel sideways by an invisible force. Mayo fell into the hands of God’s guardian angels assigned to him and was preserved. He felt no harm. There was no scratch on his body when we picked him. He was calm and okay. Martha was injured and had to take some medications from the hospital after consulting the doctor. It was an experience of the ministration of God’s angel in my son’s life. What a mystery!
God’s angels on assignment in our lives are therefore there to help us. They minister to our needs when we need them. The scriptures tell us that God’s angels excel in strength. (See Psalm 103:20)
