Operation Firedog began in July 1948 in the Far East when post-WW II Communnist Terrorists tried to take control of the area and continued when Indonesia felt threatened by the establishment of the Federation of Malaysia. The undecalred war ended in August 1966. When operations began it was WW II designs that were used but by 1966 it was V-bombers and Javelin FAW and rotary-winged types prevailed
