I believe the best way to describe the Mexican Martyrs, the Martyrs of Poland and Ireland is with the spanish word for Martyr which is mártir. When you pronounce mártir in spanish you hear the word tear. The Catholic Church in Mexico has been bought with blood and tears.

Mexico is such a contradiction. How can a country which is 97% Catholic, and 99% Guadalupean, be ruled by Anti-Catholic governments since 1825? And how has the Catholic Church been able to survive, under the heel of such domination? We, in the United States, find it almost impossible to believe that only 75 years ago, there was such wholesale persecution and slaughter of Catholics there.
