A series of 120 lyrical prose poems, addressing the world as body, concept, stranger. This collection is a quiet celebration and exploration of life, love, language, and one's place in the world “in light of all those other lives.”
I don't know about anyone else, but for the last few years I've been job hunting... More and more as of late as well and while I send my resume out, nothing comes back... So I decided to write about it as I'm sure others can relate.
This book is a "A Little Bit of Anti-Logical Thinking in a Prose Poem Collection", neither real nor imaginative, only a rendering of what I either heard or saw with my REAL eye. The one that lurks inside of each of us, just out of sight, yet talks to us, sometimes, sweetly and gently, and other times screams with tornado winds: "Write ME!!!" it says. "Write ME! and Be Damned the consequences!"
Powerlessness is a developing e-book on the wonder and significance of all the kinds of chance and spontaneity that are central to our lives. It explores how our creativity is indebted to that powerlessness.
Often whimsical, sometimes disturbing, these poems revel in language and image and myth. Whether pausing over the moment of a goldfish's passing, speculating on the contents of a goddess's wallet, testing the sharp edges of memory or exploring the significance of skin, the poems in this collection find the odd in the ordinary and the luminous in the lost.
Watch out. The sting is in the tail.
Written when the author was in his late teens and early twenties, the poems, stories and assorted mad ramblings you will find here were scribbled on scraps of paper and bar napkins in the wee hours of morning. God, existence, sex and identity dominate the desperate writings of a young man struggling to make sense of the world.
