Captain Dricksmus Drake
by Ian Hutton
A lyrical tale of a drowning ship.
"It was a sure ship he had set to course,
the rigging tight, the brass looked kissed,
they were smiling faces on a sun-swept ship,
that pearled through the sea.
But, in a gentle, twisting motion,
a sea arose which knew no depth,
over the bow, over the sails, over all,
the ocean swept. Captain Drake spun to the deck:
“Mates move now, or it’s too late!"
