You might find a book or two about resorts at #647.94, #910.202 or TX907 at the library or at the bookstore. American resorts are close to home. Patrons generally go for a short 2-3 day casual type jaunt. Overall, I'd say the resorts are generally more stately and historic than those of the Caribbean sunbelt with a more subdued, formal ambiance though things change with every resort.
