Too Many Women

Regina, a Hungarian immigrant living in NY in the 1950's, wants to marry off her 14-year old daughter, Marguerite. Her standards are low. All he needs is a steady job. Yet Marguerite's older sister is in disgrace for throwing away her right as an American girl to marry a millionaire and marrying for love instead. "But, Mother," she complains, "every girl in America is an American girl!"
