The Lockheed Electra was one of the three US pre-war transports. As well as the United States around 20 ended up in the Antipodes and this book tells the story of the Australian Electras initial airline service then US Military use in this theatre. One in particular VH-UZO ended up in the UK and was used by Sidney Cotton for clandestine photo-recce over Berlin the last to leave when WW II began.
