Paranormal Investigations – E. H. Walter
At first I was rather annoyed by Leo’s wussiness, but then I realized she had a compulsion to help people, and enough loneliness within her to make her vulnerable. Even with this initial reaction to the beginning, the story moved along quickly.
Leo didn’t believe in the paranormal, or so she said, but she was intuitively capable of dealing with mean little fairies, a grouchy troll, demons, and other nonhuman creatures.
This book was refreshing in that it had a sound plot, interesting characters, and a convincing ending. I enjoyed the book.

If X Factor wannabies can give 110%, why can't I give this six stars? It's brilliant!
It would be easy (but misguided) to pigeon-hole this book as supernatural fantasy, and to pass it by because of that would be like deciding not to read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy because you don't like science-fiction, or Aberystwyth Mon Amour because you don't like gumshoe crime stories.
A compelling storyline, brilliantly conceived characters, sharp, witty writing and flawlessly voiced dialogue combine to make this a novel that's impossible to put down. Can I have some more please?

Really enjoyable right up to the end! I hope Leo returns for many more adventures... there are still plenty of mysteries to be solved, this is just the pilot episode!

I don't usually read novels during term time but I'm hooked!!
I love the humour along with the slightly familiar setting ( I had a boyfriend who was a private detective!!). I just hope OFSTED don't interrupt my enjoyment...

I'm really enjoying the story so far! I love the wry humour, and I'm intrigued to know what happens next - who knew north London had so many mysteries? Looking forward to the next installment!

A great start to the novel. Chapters 1 and 2 flow well, with natural dialogue and pacy storytelling. I'll be making time to read subsequent chapters as and when they are published. Looking forward to the next installment!!

The perfect start to a book, it drew me in right from the off. You get a real sense that the author has lived this life, especially with the accurate and desriptive scene setting. It makes me wonder, 'is the paranormal real'?
I'm already in love with the characters and cannot wait to see how they develop.
The first chapter ends with a lovely little cliff-hanger and I eagerly await the second and subsequent chapters.
5 out 5 for me. Bring on the rest EH Walter.
