The 170S had still many of its genes dating back to the early 1930s. And although it was only slightly bigger than its predecessor, the 170V, it was regarded by most people as a much superior vehicle. It was seen as a true executive car, especially with two beautiful cabriolets at its side. That image changed only after the introduction of the diesel, but at that time the 220 had already been launched.
