Delta Force Major Jim Rhyne is on a camping trip with his family when the creatures attack. Their journey through occupied Kentucky takes them through deserted towns and devastated military bases in a desperate search for survivors. Then, when faced with certain death, they are saved by a squad of mysterious soldiers. But can Rhyne trust his new allies, and can they save humanity from extinction?

This book was very easy to read. I happen to live down the road from the storyline, so maybe I'm being biased, but I enjoyed the story. The ending was not what I expected, maybe there's a sequel?
