Feathered

Rated 4.20/5 based on 5 reviews
Book one in the Feathered Trilogy:

It's not easy being Feathered. Omari has a very normal veterinarian job in Northern California, but her winged life is anything but typical. A victim of cruel medical experiments as a child, she revels in the independence of her adult life. This freedom is threatened when suspicious events indicate that her tortured past is surfacing to haunt her once again.

About Tamara Boyens

I'm a PhD student in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching--I study how people learn other languages. I also have degrees in speech-language pathology, audiology, and applied linguistics. In the past, I worked as a veterinary technician. This is reflected in the Feathered Trilogy books, which are all available on this site. All three were NaNoWriMo novels, (the third of which is in progress at the moment) so I apologize for the lack of editing and proper formatting. I hope you enjoy the stories nonetheless, because I had a great time writing them.

Interesting premise. Good plot. Needs lots of editing for grammar, spelling, word choice. Dialog could use some work.

Side note: at the end of this book is a page or two of what appears to be some sort of scholarly or technical writing. THAT portion is very well written. Perhaps this author is trying to move from non-fiction to fiction. If so, she needs some polish!

I enjoyed this book, unusual main character. When things go wrong it is sudden and unexpected.
