Dena took a step back slightly embarrassed. The lights in the room were on and she knew he was watching her every move. He reached out, grabbed her hand and pulled her back to him.

“A bet is a bet,” he said simply, “and you lost. There is no backing out now. You agreed to do whatever I said; now it’s time to pay up.”

She swallowed hard and stood there unsure of exactly what to do next. He was sitting so close to her and watching her carefully. Finally she kicked off her shoes and smiled.
