A very nice character study by Melzer of a man who has his own strange hobby. Melzer takes the seemingly mundane and throws in some delicate hints and a horrific twist that will keep the reader interested throughout.

I liked finding out the sweet little old man had his own take on the world and how he felt like interacting with it. I'll never look at the elderly in quite the same way again, and that surely does tickle me.

James Melzer is a master of the horrific twist, and Snowmen is a twisted tale of real life. This story both shocked and blew my mind. Not to be missed!

on April 12, 2010 :
One of the best descriptions of horror that I've ever heard is that it's reality, curdled. Melzer gets that - his short fiction takes everyday, innocuous things and twists them into something both frightening and familiar.
