IKahn on March 4, 2012:

Takes on important values in a savory soup of light prose. Being that the Jewish Holiday of Purim falls out this week, particularly timely. Ms. Hays has a special flair. Fun to read.

Lush descriptions entranced, but the ending was the hammer on the nail. Teeming with delights, Hays' prose shines.

For a Jew who has seen most of India, a quirky and highly enjoyable story.

I'm 'half' so the title grabbed me. But it wasn't what I thought at all. I like the unpredictable. Good job.
