Wow! What a great story! I was a little skeptical when I first started reading this actually. Time travel, mystery, love, crime, how is all of this great stuff going to fit cohesively into one story? I was in for a great surprise reading A Summer Out of Time. Larry Long did an amazing job of combining so many great elements into this book. Following Toby James as he falls asleep in 1946 and wakes up in 2010 was an adventure that I didn't want to end. How would you feel if you fell asleep one day in this year for example, 2011 as an 18 year old, just starting out in life, call it summer before you go off to college and you wake up in 2075 still 18 years old but no knowledge of what happened between the time you fell asleep and the time you woke up. How did you get here? Who are you? Where is your family? All of these questions are things Toby must struggle with as he is also trying to avoid small town police as all sorts of terrible murders start occurring right after he shows up. As an 18 year old kid, how would you handle all of this at one time? You'll have to read the book to find out how Toby handles it all and how the story pans out. I will warn you though, if you pick up this book, plan to not put it down until it's completed. Such a GREAT read!!! Can't wait to read more from Larry Long!
