Extended description

This is the true story of one's man's long campaign to help overturn a 30-year murder conviction for a crime a young backward teenager did not commit. Set in a small rural community in Bakewell, Derbyshire, England, the editor of a local newspaper fought against prejudice, police interference, government harrassment to finally free a man trapped within a bureaucratic and corrupt justice system.
The story attracted worldwide attention and later became a BBC TV drama starring stephen Tompkinson as Don Hale, the newspaper editor, and Carolyn Katz plus an all-star cast. During this exceptional investigation, Don faced firebomb attacks, hit and run attempts, threats and intimidation.
The long hard-fought campaign eventually helped to change British and European Justice and recorded Britain's longest and worst ever miscarriage of justice.
