When Jason finally found his footing on the bottom and stood, soaking wet and waist high in warm water, he found Derrick laughing softly to himself.

“Hilarious,” Jason said, moving to the steps. Derrick put a hand on the railing and a foot on the first step and stopped him.

“Derrick, come on.” Jason didn’t think he could hang on much longer, though Derrick’s immature antics helped – they reminded him of the age difference. But when Jason looked up, he saw anything but youth in Derrick’s darkened eyes. Jason followed Derrick’s gaze to his own chest, his own abs.
