The plot? Illegal sea dump of USN’s ‘dud’ missile arsenal; sacrificing aged sub, naive captain, geriatric robot crew and traitor, rogue robot Shirley. J-Circ Shirley, returned in error from Japan, is found to be last ‘tapper’ on earth. A 3-way, undersea submersible life and death contest ensues: Japanese and Chinese samurai versus US Holy Buck Corp. Winner take Shirl. More
A USN nuclear submarine at sea, manned by its sole human captain and robot crew – but with a difference. This sub is to be sunk in the Marianas Trench; and there, illegally dispose of the USN’s obsolete 100-missile armory together with the naïve captain, vessel and crew of throw-away geriatrics – obsolete, damaged or ailing.
Convicted rogue US space robot, CircShirley, is sent to Japan for analysis and there adopted by world tech superpower Japan’s last, and dying, brain-enhancing tapper, J-CircMiyoshi She illegally upgrades Shirley to J-Circ (Japanese). Miyoshi dies, and Shirley is accidentally returned to prison in time to fill the doomed sub’s requisition for an expendable FirstMAC.
TOYOTA, realizing their loss (Shirley now the last tapper on earth), dispatch female samurai, Rin, to make the at-sea recovery. The Chinese spy out the Japanese loss and send twin assassins in a sister sub to take Shirley and kill Rin. Holy Buck Corp (HBC), learns of the others plans and sends its team to retrieve HBC property (Shirley). All teams converge on the submarine. [Where is the humor in that, you say? Well, it is there – not rollickingly riotous but an undertow powerful enough to generate smiles.]
That time, our world someday, waiting for events to reach and make happen; that world, unlike ours, a place of distrust, deceit and holocaustic secret plans for sole mastery of what remains of once-beautiful, fatally abused planet earth. All-powerful corporations rule corporate states with each seeking the same survival goal. Most build walls but some dig underground for safety. The Japanese, realistic and able, begin emigration to the moon. The Chinese wait impatiently for the Japanese exodus to be completed; their aim: ‘One China Earth’.
Japan’s technological superpower TOYOTA ‘manages’ earth because of its technological robotic supremacy and having developed unique deterrence weapons; armaments so consummate that standing armies are a thing of the past.
Not much joy on earth with populations reduced and struggling for survival while faced with shrinking fertile land, polluted air and uncontaminated food. Harsh alternatives result in ethnic solidarity. Leaders in ethnic purity are the Japanese and they initiators of the Oslo Ethnic Peace Accord making it lawful for any group declaring a distinctive difference to establish their own criteria for group qualification without external interference or appeal.
For those finding acceptance within the ethnic shell, some measure of happiness. For the unfortunates whose love choice involves different skin pigmentation, religion or one of the other criteria – hard, unhappy dilemma. Separate and agonize for life or join hands in exile to wander scorned and abused by the ethnic settlements.
In that world, a myth tells of a bygone time when a United States of America ruled the world with its incomparable military and navy which owned the seas; a nation that included all the lands west of the Mississippi now occupied by Mexico and French Canada. A United States exists yet; a corporate democracy managed by the M L King Jr., Industries, but ethnically, strictly divided with Blacks in full control of government, commerce and law enforcement. Within this western hemisphere backwater interracial strife is a thing of the past. Not because the seeds of discord are absent but because Black control is too firmly established and enforced.
The plan to move the Black nation underground nears completion. With its approach, the HBC is poised to fill the vacuum created by the Blacks’ move underground. HBC has the will and the flexible corporate morality. All that is lacking is financing and that too, if verbal corporate history is correct – that too can be made available.
This is a tale out of that time. It will become a true story. The truth is there – over the horizon.
