He woke up to find two days of his life gone. A strait-laced CEO, Dean never wanted to be like his impetuous womanizing father, but while hypnotized Dean wooed and wed some sexy Las Vegas dancer airhead. About Alyssa Kress

Alyssa Kress completed her first novel at the age of six, an unlikely romance between a lion and the jackal who wants to steal his meal. Despite earning two degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and spending nearly a decade in the construction industry, she's yet to see her feet stay firmly on the ground. She now lives in Southern California, three miles from where she first committed pen to paper, together with her husband and two children.

A bit of a stretch thoroughly entertaining, except for the extra couple. I did not care for Troy or Felicia's characters, they were an intrusion in the read as a bothersome fly.

I picked this book up last July, way outside my comfort zone, and I loved it unreservedly. Neatly overcoming my commonest objections to romance with a tarnished female lead set on winning a man who is actually worth winning, and an ingenious impediment to her success that is both genuine (if unlikely) and genuinely overcome without once making me shout ‘just bloody talk to one another’ at the screen (I am not a romance reader), this might be light but it’s completely engaging, and I’m not ashamed to give it five stars for excellence of its type.

Loved this storyline! thoroughly enjoyed it, got really involved in the story. I do agree that the cover does not do this book any justice AT ALL and the Troy storyline was really annoying cause it kept coming in at peak moments in Dean and Kelly's relationship had to skip over it.

I love this book!! The only thing I disliked about this book was the book cover. It made me put off reading this and does the book no justice at all! All in all, AWESOME!!!

Talk about emotional baggage, just an excuse for bad....? Why could Troy's story not be told in another book? I actually skimmed past their pages as their story did not belong there....

A very lovely read. Highly recommended. Interesting, well-drawn, complex and likeable characters. Not the usual run-of-the-mill romance. The unexpected secondary romance and couple were as well done as the main pair.

Marriage by Mistake by Alyssa Kress
Kelly Williams, a Las Vegas showgirl, met a handsome man in the casino. She quickly fell in love with him and they married. Forty-Eight hours later he left to get donuts and never returned. Puzzled and angered she hunts down her husband in Boston to finds a building named after him and a man in an expensive Italian suit who looks at her as if he’d never laid eyes on her before. Well that went well.

Dean Singleton had a life of a revolving door when it came to step-mothers. He was not going to end up like his father. And yet he has some sexy showgirl claiming he married her. What happened in the forty-eight hours he lost after being hypnotized and having his cousin Troy make suggestions while he was? Dean retrieves Kelly from Vegas and brings her to Boston with intentions of proving they do not suit.

They begin a two month trial marriage where Kelly hopes to find “her” Dean from the two days in Vegas and Dean is determined to stay away from her. Throw in a nine year old step-brother and a cousin who does his best not to do any work, and you have a book full of twists and turns. Lots of heart tugging as well as the author brings out the different characters traits. I really enjoyed this book.
**Sensual situations.

Very enjoyable! Well written and developed characters. Like most stories with a secondary romance, I tend to like the secondary characters more and wish for THEIR happiness instead! And yep, I did end up ling Troy and Felicia more than Dean and Kelly. I think it's because I didn't really like Dean all that much. Sure, he had emotional damage, but it seemed a bit forced and it could have been explained better. And seeing that he is the founder of his own biogenetics company, you'd think he was smart enough to realize his own feelings!

Actually, Marriage by Mistake was two romance stories for the price of FREE.

I don't normally choose light romance as reading materiel, but I do love to find out about new writers through a free read. So - that being said, I'm probably not the target audience.

And yet, I enjoyed this book so much that the number of 1 and 2 star reviews here on Amazon actually surprises me.

Yes, the initial set-up requires some suspension of belief - that Kelly and Dean met, fell in love, and got married all in two days in Las Vegas while Dean was under hypnotic influence.

Once I bought in to that, the rest was easy.

The secondary romance was a pleasant surprise. In fact, I was delighted that the female antagonist, a self-proclaimed Ice Queen who had hoped to marry Dean - went completely off stereotype and wasn't nasty to the female protagonist. Talk about refreshing.

Very nice. I think readers of light, comic romance would enjoy this story.

This book teaches you that you have to grow up, being mature but at the same don't lose your warmth of heart.

the story was great though I skipped some of the pages were the story does not involved with main characters such as the story of troy and Felicia. it is much better if the author make a separate novel just for them.

This was a good read and I say put it on your electronic book shelf. I enjoyed both stories because although the main characters were Dean and Amy there was a back story between Troy and Felicia which was nice to read too. Amy knew she wanted Dean but it took Dean a while to realize the same.

I liked this story a lot. This is one I think I could actually see as a Harlequin in print. Author should have a contract with a bonafide publisher.

Don't judge a book by it's cover!!! I always say. I thought this book was quite entertaining. The Amy and Dean's romance was well written. I also enjoyed the second romance as well. It could have easily been a teaser for the second book in a series. They could have just flirted a relationship in this book and actually discovered their desires in the next. oh well. I would have loved to have more.

Loved it! I fell in love with all the characters except Kirk.. but that's a given..lol I like how it had 2 stories in one, with Troy and Felicia's love story snuck in there little by little. :) Will be waiting to see what the author comes up with next!!
