The crime aspect of the book was first class. Although being from the UK I found the sports side of it a tad boring, but overall well worth reading.

This was a fun book to read. I am from Brooklyn and was an infant at the time the story takes place. The author did make some errors in the details pertaining to Brooklyn. Nevertheless, I found the book to be an entertaining read.

Perfect! This book seemed to come out of left field just hit me where I live. It has it all. A great crime thriller with the added bonus of the pennant race weaving through the story. The depiction of everyday life in the 50's was fantastic. The pictures are wonderful & compliment the text, drawing me back to that odd time in American history. If you don't know it, it's worth a trip to see & Spoelstra certainly takes you there.
