Short description

This is a love story but it is fringed with envy, jealousy, and bitterness—oh and more. It is laced with the havoc those devastating emotions can bring. It is about the seeds of hate born of love, and what havoc that hate can wantonly roar over even the immortals. This is a story of Aaibhe, queen of the Seelie Fae because she deserves that it be told.

Extended description

I put together Aaibhe's story in response to mail I had received from my readers wanting to know more about the Queen in my Legend series. My editor kept me balanced and reminded me that it had to be stand alone so that everyone would enjoy and so I walked that fine line. Here is my Fae Queen's story and I do so hope you all enjoy.

Seventy thousand years is a long time to live without true love.

As queen of the Seelie Fae, Aaibhe led her people to a new world when their own had been destroyed by war. She accepted the responsibility of maintaining the magic-built walls that imprisoned the evil Dark Fae. She kept the Seelie Hallows safe. And though she enjoyed the companionship of an occasional Fae lover, she never took a royal Fae as her king or a non-royal as her consort.

Conall is a Druid high priest from the MacTalbots, one of the families chosen by Aaibhe centuries before to perform the rituals needed to strengthen the Unseelie prison walls. Though a skilled and loyal Druid pri.. (Read more)

I enjoyed this novella from Claudy, if you are interested in reading her Legend series I would highly recommend reading this it offers insights into Queen Aaibhe via her personal musings and flashbacks. It really opened my eyes as to why she became the woman she is today.

Aaibhe is a Daoine Fae, the highest caste of Seelie Fae. As she went from the Fae's island of Tir to watch the Druid priests during Beltane, she meets Conall MacTalbot. The first time in centuries she is attracted to a man, a human no less. Unfortunately for the lovers she does not realize that Gaiscioch, her dear friend and ex-lover, is watching, waiting, seething, hating and plotting against them both.
Spellbound is the first book of the Legends Series. It hints about something that happened long before to the Queen and a Druid priest. This is their story.

ARC for Review ~ First off let's begin with this an ADULTS ONLY read!
Wow Poor Conall!! I just finished this short story by Claudy Conn, it does give you a lot of info into the background of Queen Aaibhe (Ah-hibbe) and just how she became Queen. It also tells the story of a love so deep, one that can not be denied, so much so, that it sets into motion a series of events that had me glued to my seat.

Claudy has a way with her writing that is very crisp, clear, and easy to follow, wording it in such a way that you feel right along with the characters, putting you on the sidelines as the story unfolds. The characters are likable, believable, and furthermore, they are amazing to visualize.

The world building is awesome, imagine seeing something materialize with the simple move of finger, I really enjoyed this intro to the Legend Series, as I call it..

I recommend this to those 18+ due its sexually graphic nature and strong language.
