This is a follow on to the book Calan. I like to read follow on books so I got this one at the same time as I read Calan. This book extends the relationship of Calan and Angela to envelope friends and family. It also focuses on a charitable organisation they run to uplift physically and mentally abused women. There’s lots of amateur psychology in this book which made me wonder - Is the author aiming at a self-help book or a romance…I’m not sure. The storyline was pleasant enough but as in the first book I found all the characters to too perfect and lacking depth. I also found the conversational language used to be a bit old fashioned…I’ll put that down to cultural divide perhaps. On the whole though, it was a pleasant enough read and good to kill off a few hours if you need to.

God I loved this book! I feel like I am taking special courses on life, and how to live it to its fullest. This was a wonderful continuance of Calan. It left Riahna with another bundle of tissues to tear apart throughout the night. These wonderful books make me think there really are people in this world who find a true and lasting love. It feeds a part of my soul that was starving for attention. I cannot think of a more powerful set of books than those written by Prudence MacLeod. I just wish everyone had the chance to learn about them and enjoy the same sense of love and happiness reading her stories brings. Thank you again Pru, for sharing such a wonderful world with the rest of us!

This book picked up right where the first one left off, and kept me reading until I was finished. The characters in this series are so loveable and endearing that it is a true joy to read about them and their interactions with each other. Thank you Prudence, for another fantastic book!
