This is a powerful debut by the young author Anderson. By using captivating imagery and making his protagonist with a very strong yet romantic persona, he creates a very dimensional yet relatable world and an almost magnetic character to which the reader can become easily attached. A relatively quick read, I highly recommend this book.

Compelling. Anderson's ability to take what appears to be a fantasy book and turn it into something so utterly real and authentic is astounding. The use of metaphor, wit, and imagery in this book does more than make it an enjoyable read, it grabs you by the hand and walks you through a world entirely different, yet hauntingly similar to our own. I challenge you to read this book and not identify with it in some way.
