Donovan’s Angel

Rated 4.22/5 based on 10 reviews
When Martie Fleming breezed into Pontotoc, Mississippi, determined to settle down, she never expected to land next door to the minister. She never expected her golden retriever to steal his shorts right off the clothes line. And she certainly never expected to fall in love. Everybody in town would agree they are so wrong for each other – everybody but Paul Donovan. More

Many of our friends are ordained ministers and they all have problems with people separating the person from the collar. It was fun to read and to watch Paul and Martie fall into the same trap of expectations versus reality.

Thanks, Peggy, for an enjoyable read.

From the first moment Martie and Paul meet you know you're in for a fun and interesting ride. I loved seeing the man side of a minister, and how he kept his good humor while dashing all of Martie's preconceived ideas.

The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars out of 5 is I had a little trouble buying the sudden change in Paul's attitude after they were married. He was very open and honest up until that point. Otherwise, bravo and well done!

Immensely satisfied on how the character developed & just an ounce of desire is sufficient keeping the reader in suspense and hanging to every word written.
Kudos to Peggy Web for delivering amazing story!

3 out of 5 stars, this story is lively, incredibly sweet, fun, and very heartwarming!! The characters and events that go on within this book are very creative and scandalously delicious!! I never thought a Reverend could heat me up as much as Paul does throughout the pages, while Martie is just a hoot with her "brazen" ideas and colorful attire! I thought they made a wonderful couple! In addition, I thought this story had a wonderful plot that really gave me a perspective I never would have thought to look at before.

The only flaw in this story, for me, was that even after Martie and Paul get married they still hold back from each other the passion that is between them because of other people’s views and what they believe is the "right thing to do." I know it would have made for a shorter book but I wish they didn't have to go through all of that. However, I do like how Martie and Paul went about to make their marriage work, as well as, how everything wrapped up in a very surprising panache Martie-like fashion! =0)

I recommend this to anyone who enjoys soft romance novels that have a lot of comedy thrown in!!

I love books with happy endings, and have grown to anticipate these when reading Peggy's books. This one is no exception. The two characters come to the relationship from very different backgrounds and experiences, but feel an instant attraction. The characters around them have a wet towel effect on their relationship, but it doesn't dim the spark. I gave this a four only because the third quarter of the book seemed almost endless, and I grew impatient. But the fourth quarter did not let me down. I would recommend this one for a long winter's night!
