Short description

A collection of tales about the ghosts, superstitions and legends of the ancient seaport of Whitby, which lies on the North East Coast of England. Along with the eerie and haunting tales of this beautiful old Yorkshire town, there is of course a narrative on Dracula's connection with Whitby, the places he was seen and the victims he entrapped to satiate his lust for blood!

Extended description

The Whitby Ghost Book was written by Paul McDermott (now Paul Fitz-George since his marriage - very 'New Man') during his time as a Harbour Official at Whitby in the 1980s.

Some of the stories were found in old records of the town, others were first hand accounts given by people he met and talked with when he worked there.

The stories formed the basis for his successful Whitby Ghost Walk, which he ran in summer months and some of them were used in a BBC Radio programme he narrated, about the strange Christmas customs that used to be practised in the town.

Originally published in 1987 by Anderson Publications, this is an updated version (2007) specially produced for the ebook market
