When Clara White Bird dies, she struggles with her new existence. The bond of love between her and her husband, Adam is powerful, keeping her tied to her mortality. She meddles in the physical world, wanting to help Adam through his sorrow. But her folly results in a young boy, Ian becoming lost with his horse.

Ian's best friend Jessica is determined to find him. Not knowing that a dangerous predator is near, she sets out into the dessert and runs into trouble of her own. Very enjoyable read. The resiliency of the human spirit along with that of a child makes a great back drop for a great horse adventure in the desert.

Echo is a very good book and I enjoyed both the horse and human aspects of the book. The author does a good job describing both the horses and the humans in the book and gets the reader involved and caring about the outcome for all the characters. It was especially nice to read a book the features endurance also.
