I was reading it and at first I thought, not bad, the woman telling the story is funny, even a little nasty. At some point I realized something was different. I was so involved with what was happening, like this woman is alive like I know her. The end was really moving. Terrific book.

Distinctive prose winds several years, needlework, and cocoa almonds within an unusual family. Eclectic characters add to the narrative for an engaging story.

A captivating story that was told in an orginal style which made it all the more real. This is the second I have read by this author and both have left me emotionally involved.
