The Starship Victory is back again, this time investigating Earth-763, a Viking world. Sick of centuries of war, the residents of the planet have decided to destroy their own moon, and in so doing bring about Ragnarok: the Twilight of the Gods. Now the Victory races against time to find out how they could destroy their moon and if they can stop them in time.
Earth-763 is a world whose primary civilization descended from the ancient Vikings. After centuries of destruction its residents have decided that life just isn't worth it--and they set out to destroy their world. The Science Ship Hugin is ill prepared for this, so they call in some help.
So it's the Starship Victory's responsibility to deal with this. Security Chief Hayes is sent down to the planet to investigate how a world of such low technology could destroy something a quarter the size of the Earth itself.
