"Tyger Lilly" is a delightful blend of ecology, mayhem, talking animals, suspense, intrigue, and magic that will charm any young person (plus perhaps a few of us older people).
Not only is it a well-written story, but its symbolism and positive messages are a part of the narration. Lilly may be bullied, but she has the smarts to be able to fight back. She may have been abandoned by her depressed mother, but she is able to learn how to take care of herself. And she may not have the exact key to solving all the problems in the world, but she knows what's important - that we should all try to take care of each other in the best way that we can.
(As a writer myself and Smashwords author, I did note some rather odd formatting and a few typos here and there, but they do not affect the quality of this fine story.)

My three children and I love Tyger Lilly. Trusiani seamlessly blends sensitive real life issues with an engaging, and fantastical, cast of characters, and all the right elements of a suspenseful page-turner. The result is a spellbinding tale that appeals to young and old alike. I can't wait to read more from this author, but until then, Tyger Lilly will remain a story that we return to again and again!

I was on a long car ride and had the opportunity to listen to the audio version of Tyger Lilly. The story takes on a number of real world issues in a fanciful way that both children and adults would enjoy.
The author creates a fantastic world populated with quirky characters that have to fight the evil forces they encounter in their lives.
A good read.

This is a wonderful book for children and adults alike that recalls the fanciful classics of old. A lonely little girl, Lilly lives in a ramshackle Victorian with her beloved parrot Professor Tobias (who talks, of course!) and a motley assortment of animals from guinea pigs to iguanas. Lilly’s mom lives in her own private world, designing giant animal topiaries when she has the strength to get out of bed. When the house almost falls into foreclosure, Lilly is forced to raise cash on short notice, enlisting the aid of Tobias and her new best friend, Dorian, the proverbial boy next store (well, not quite) who sports a vestigial tail. With the help of some magic bowku seeds, the three sleuths find out some not-so-nice-things about the local pet store and its proprietor that will keep readers on the edge of their seats!
I read Tyger Lilly on smashbooks.com, but the audio tape is equally good and very well-narrated. Combining fantasy, ecology, and suspense, the author has created a unique (and highly visual) story world as well as a memorable gallery of characters. I loved it!

My daughter and son both read this when they were 11 and 12 respectively. They loved it and continue to talk about it - often comparing it to other books they read "Well, it wasn't as good as Tyger Lily!!"
My daughter wants to be Tyger Lily since she loves animals and I'm sure she would love it if, like the parrot in the book, her bunny talked. . .
This is an imaginative and poignant book. Its author has created a fantastical world which, though imperfect and sometimes sad, is also filled with wonder and hope -- a bit like our own world.
That said, this is a delightful read for both children and adults. There is now a book on tape that is wonderful and I urge every parent out there to give a copy of this title to their children and, better yet, to read it with them.
