These concepts of corn stalk rot, controversial when first published in 1980, have been tested and retested by the author and several university researchers and now is taught in many university plant pathology courses. The book offers the evidence for this concept and leads the grower, agronomist and plant breeder to application to improving the growing and genetics of corn hybrids for maintaining high stalk quality in corn.
