This was a good, free ebook even though it was predictable. In the very beginning, you already know who the stalker is but the author does try to hide it. Also, some details were not believable such as no one finding a dead body in a hotel room for days. I guess no one had to pay for the room, the hotel didn't have maids and had wonderful room deodorizers.

I do recommend the book because it had romance, suspense and a feel good ending. I will also be looking for other books by this author.

I received this book from the author in exchange of an honest review.

Kristine Cayne is a very talented writer! I really enjoyed reading "Deadly Obsession" and I definitely believe this book deserves a top spot in the charts. I give this book 5 STARS for a multitude of reasons: Ms. Cayne has an amazing writing style, this book was perfectly paced, the characters were relatable and loveable, and the plot was great. I just felt "Deadly Obsession" was an overall great book and I loved every minute of it. This book has all the ingredients for the best-seller recipe: high school crushes, second chances, adult romances, love, hate, violence, obsession, guilt, and the deep dark secrets of the past. Put all this together with an incredibly sexy Hollywood movie star, a single mom who is a department store photographer, a bunch of fans, and a psycho stalker killer. Sound good yet? I thought so!

Nic "The Lover" Lamoreaux is one of Hollywood's biggest movie stars. He finds it very important to make as many movies as he can so he can make money to protect his secret. Then there is Lauren James, a department store photographer and single mother to a young son. After winning a photography contest, Lauren has the chance of a lifetime. She gets to be the sole photographer for a photo shoot with Nic "The Lover." It turns out that Lauren remembers Nic from high school and he had the starring role to all her naughty fantasies. Lauren is Nic's dream girl, and after discovering she really has talent, he decides to help her with her career. One thing leads to the next and Nic and Lauren fall in love. Problem is, one of Nic's fans doesn’t like Nic with any girl - especially not one he is actually in love with. This stalker calls herself NicsBitch and always happens to know everything. Small threats lead to serious matters, and things get ugly real quick. Nic doesn't think Lauren is safe with him anymore and wants to protect her and her son at all costs - even if the price is his heart. Who is this stalker and how do they know everything about Nic? What exactly do they want? Will Nic and Lauren find a way to be together? Was it ever really meant to be in the first place? Find out in this great 5 STAR book by Kristine Cayne "Deadly Obsession."

I thought the characters in this story were great! I instantly fell in love with Nic and Lauren. And this love was not just an insta-crush...nope I loved these characters more and more as the story went on. I found them relatable and just plain real! Even though Nic was this hot shot Hollywood actor, he just wanted a calm and normal life. He loved his fans, but he hated the Hollywood life. I also love Lauren’s character. She is a strong woman and single mother. She wants the best for her child and works hard to get it. I am a single mom so I really enjoyed that Lauren was too. And it kind of gives you hope that there are good men out there who want to be with you even if you already have a child. I liked that she was a strong character and knew what she wanted. I loved Nic and Lauren together. They made me smile, laugh, ooh and ahhh. But, I also got upset when outside forces were trying to tear them apart. I enjoyed the supporting cast as well. I really liked Remi, he was so funny! I thought Nic and Remi had a great friendship and they always made me laugh. I look forward to reading more about Remi in Kristine Cayne’s next installment of this series.

Altogether, I thought this book was great and I definitely recommend this 5 STAR book. I loved the suspense and the romance. It just went together perfectly! I just can’t get over how much I fell in love with Nic and Lauren. I was routing for them and wanted them to have their Happily Ever After. If you love Adult Romance, Suspense, Humor, and Thrills, then you will love “Deadly Obsession” by Kristine Cayne. I think everyone should check this book out – it was just that good!

I was looking for a hot romance and I was not disappointed. Nic and Lauren fell in love a little quick for me but still I couldn't put it down once I started. Nic is being stalked by a crazy fan and will do anything to protect Lauren-even give her up. Lauren is heartbroken when she has to leave Nic but she'll do anything to protect her son. How does she fight for her man and keep her son safe at the same time? You'll have to read Deadly Obsession yourself to find out! This is a very well written story!

Kristine Cayne is a very talented author. I can't wait to begin Deadly Addiction.

Lauren gets the opportunity to photograph the movie star of her dreams, "Nic the Lover". If she gets some great photos, she may be able to jump start her career as a photographer. As a single mom, she could really use a better paying job - she is widowed and has a young son to support.

During the shoot, Nic immediately is attracted to Lauren. Unfortunately, he has a stalker who refuses to leave him alone and the violence is escalating.

I really enjoyed the growing relationship between Nic and Lauren and the steamy-hot love scenes. I also liked the suspense, waiting to find out who the stalker was and if the person would be caught.

If you like romantic suspense, this book is a must read!

I must say, I was captivated from page 1. Absolutely loved Nic's character, loved the way the story was written. You were able to get three different peoples perspective, quite enjoyable. I was in bed last night at 1a.m unable to put the book down, with a 6a.m wake up call. I literally cried reading the part where Nic was giving a child her dying wish during a Make a Wish fundraiser. As he picked her up and held her in his arms and danced & sang in her ear, I felt as if I was there, watching them. First book by this author, super impressed, ready for the next one.

Spoiler Alert:
I received this book through an ARR program to read for review. Deadly Obsession is a steamy romantic suspense novel about a couple who cross paths after knowing one another in high school only now one is a famous movie star and the other is a single struggling mom. Lauren wins a photography contest to assist in the photo shoot of a famous actor, an actor that she has fantasized about and remembers having a big crush on in high school. Nic is a famous actor with two personas; one the "Lover" and the other just Nic with a painful secret that eats him up inside. Nic finds himself attracted to the photographer that won the contest only he is being stalked by a crazed fan and the timing couldn't be more wrong. The story takes off and unfortunately a quarter of the way, I have figured out who the stalker is and pretty much how the book is going to end. There are some really steamy scenes between the protagonists but also one truly endearing moment where Nic makes a child's wish come true. The family dynamic between the couple and her son is brief but sweet. The characters although interesting are predictable. There are some issues with grammar and misspellings but not enough to take away from the story. I would like to thank the author for the opportunity to read her book.

This book has you in suspense from point one. Nic is that dreamy guy that we all wish for and Lauren is us. I love that she is not an anorexic model/actress. This author made this story line even better because your getting the story from 3 perspectives. This is a book that I will read more than once. The details make you see everything like if you were standing there beside them or better yet like you were one of them

Very nice weekend read.
This is a good contemporary romance. It was a tad longer than I normally like my romantic suspense but the author did a great job making every scene count. There were no superfluous scenes; they all drove the story forward so it didn't read like a 'too long' book. I am trying to compliment the writer but I am doing a bad job of it. The tempo of the book was great. The characters were loveable and their motivations understandable. The romance felt real and the sex scenes were hot but not overly explicit.
The only negative I have about the whole thing was that I wanted more of a mystery. I knew from the first who the bad guy was. I think the book could have done with some red herrings.
Other than that, I have no complaints. The book is very enjoyable and I look forward to Remi's story in book 2. I would also love to see what Kristine Cayne can do for Kaden, because that hunk of adorable man meat needs his own tale.

I got this book for free, in exchange of an honest review, from the group Making Connections. Get your copy here

My Thoughts:
the love scenes between Nic and "Lorna" were hot and sweet at the same time but the instant love was a problem for me. I could understand Lauren being attracted because Nic was a movie star but Nic came as a wannabe shifter eager to claim his mate.
the humor kept the story entertaining and all the supporting characters were good.
the book was the exact perfect length and the ending was done perfectly, however, like many readers I guessed the identity of the stalker from the very first page.
how Nic comes to realize how selfish he was being about his secret and his unfair treatment of Rachel
I also liked Lauren's reaction when Nic was trying to seduce Vivian.

The book is an easy short read that you'll enjoy curling up with.

Review by: Booketta on March 27, 2012 :
I read this is Ms Cayne's debut novel, not a bad start to a writing career - not a bad start at all! I'm not a great one for the romance genre, however this was romance with a difference. A thriller as well! The reader is kept on their toes all the way through. Although the stalker's identity is shown fairly early on, her actions are still highly unpredictable - you don't know where she may follow or what she will do. Good characterisations and a pacy narrative with plenty going on to keep the audience interested. Nice interaction between the key players and some nasty twists and turns add to the plot.
The second novel from the Deadly Vices series - Deadly Addiction is due out April this year. Not long and on the basis of Book One, it's worth the wait.

I thought when I got this book that I was in for a nice little read. I would guess who did it by chapter 3 and wait for the plot to catch up. Boy was I wrong, this is a smart savvy story that is a first class romantic suspense and uses the fact we know who the stalker is to full effect. It is a intense and the plot is laid out in such a way that you are on the edge of your seat just waiting for Nik to see what we see. This is a masterpiece and it blew me away, the emotional intensity grabs you from page 1 and doesn't let up till the very last word, it is heartstoppingly beautiful and bloodcurdlingly believable and I for one bow down to a very scarey author!!

Nic and Lauren are hot together. However, if they're not smart, they could end up dead together!

This was a great read. Reading the story from different points of view added to the interest. I've read a lot of books where I've asked myself what a certain character was thinking. In this case, I didn't need to do that because the writer expressed the feelings of each of the main characters.

The writing and editing were both very well done. I look forward to reading more by this author!

Instead of summarizing this book again, I'll tell you what makes it a great read!
1. Deadly Obsession has an abundance of amazing characters. The main characters Nic and Lauren both have a lot going on in their lives. Lauren lost her husband due to the war, had to work hard to support her son, and she has "body issues" just like the rest of us. Nic seems to be this "playboy" but we learn that he actually is a good man carrying around a lot of unnecessary baggage, as well as dealing with a psycho-stalker. Kaden and Remi are hilarious, Lauren's son-Jason is adorable, and the list goes on.
2. The romance between Lauren and Nic was believable (and hot!). Sometimes in cases of "instant attraction" or when one person is a celebrity I feel the need to say "BS, their relationship would never work or it would never happen that way!" Not the case here!
3. Loved the parts with Nic's stalker, I was so eager to find out who the stalker was!
4. I love when the author provides the reader with enough clues to figure out who the killer is-Ms. Cayne did this!!

If you enjoy romantic suspense, I'd recommend this book. Remi's book will be published soon. But I'm hoping for a book with Rachel, Nic's sister!!

Deadly Obsession is the story of Lauren James and Nic Lamoureux, also known as Nic the lover.
Lauren is a single mom, who works as a department store photographer.
Nic is Hollywood's leading man, who hides a dark secret.
Nic and Lauren are instantly attracted to each other, but in the background, a stalker is trying everything she can to keep them apart.

So, what i loved about Deadly Obsession...Everything!
I haven't read romantic suspense, and after reading this novel, i find myself wondering why i hadn't before.
From the first page, i was hooked on this story.
Nic, was an amazing character. Completely gorgeous and sexy as hell but there was more to him than that. I was pleasantly surprised to find that he had depth.
Lauren was great. I loved her right away. Although, a few times i wanted to slap her for doing something stupid :) And her son, Jason was a sweetheart.

I worked out who the stalker was not too far into the book, but the whole way through, i kept thinking maybe it wasn't. The story takes on you so many twists and turns, that you are kept on your toes.

The sex scenes were steamy but not overdone, which is good.

Kristine Cayne, has written a fabulous, engaging, suspenseful and thoroughly enjoyable first novel. I will be keeping my eyes open for anything else she writes.
Another great Indie author find :)

I really enjoyed Deadly Obsession. There's great sexual tension between the hero and heroine, and I liked both characters very much. The stalker plotline is quite creepy and kept me turning the pages. Despite the subject matter, there is good banter between the characters, and I laughed out loud several times. Overall, a great read. I can't wait for the next book by Kristine Cayne.
