Larry Eissler was born Larry Gene Eissler III on August 9th 1987. He lived and grew up in Algonquin, Illinois and graduated from Dundee-Crown High School in the summer of 2005. That following August he enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard as a Chemical Operations Specialist while serving 6 months in Fort Leonard, Missouri for his basic training and occupation training. Between 2006 and 2008 he served in the Illinois Army National Guard CBRNE (Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear, and high yield Explosive) Emergency Response Force Package (CERF-P) as a part of a Homeland Security hazmat operations team for Illinois.
In September 2008, he deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, returning home in September 2009 to his then 1 year old son Aiden. It was at this point he started to investigate the paranormal on a part-time basis and assisted in founding the Small Town Paranormal Family (STPF) in January of 2010. He conducted many investigations in the name of the STPF, many of which were broadcasted online during the Dark Moon Rising Radio web show. In the summer of 2011, as the STPF was disbanding, he chose to remain investigating as a hobby and eventually started writing.
Larry currently lives in Rockford, IL with his girlfriend Nicole and her two kids. His son Aiden, who is now 3 years old provides Larry with more than enough exercise between articles and is part of the reason he hopes to continue writing in the future. “One of the greatest feelings in the world is to be able to hold a book in your hand and say ‘I wrote that, that’s my name’, then your kid says ‘my dad wrote this, that’s our last name!’ and you realize that has become the greatest feeling in the world”. Besides Larry chasing after his son, his many talents include art and design, photography, auto interior detailing, gaming, and small electronics repair. Larry is a very dedicated, determined, and observant person to the things he takes interest in and will research something endlessly before deciding to commit. He is very caring and companionate towards his work and takes every aspect of life seriously but still tries to find the humorous side. Larry’s favorite quote, taken from much of the decor of his house, is “Live, Love, Laugh” and he tries to aspire to that every day.
