Short description

After the worst year of his life, all Donnie wanted was happiness, and when he met Abbie, he was sure he had found it. But their happiness together is placed in jeopardy when they are dragged in to the world of Vampires. Orphaned, now they must fight to survive, fight to live and fight to keep their love alive. They find themselves outcasts in this world, the world of the Foundlings.

Extended description

In the vampire world where their kind is hunted mercilessly, Espee, Donnie, Nox, Abbie, and few other Foundlings stand to protect their members. As the leader of the den, Espee has taught them to survive, to hide, and to avoid detection from the formal Bloodlines that try to exterminate them. But until when will they run and hide against the formal Bloodlines, especially the Reich? Will they be able to find their own specific place in the vampire world? Readers can find out in author R.M. Garcia’s The Foundlings.

Every vampire originated from a Bloodline Source, and each Bloodline could only birth a certain number of vampires from its Source. As it turned out, Foundlings complicated the formal Bloodlines’ plans and their possible numbers. For every risen Foundling, there would be one less vampire available to the corresponding Bloodline. Every formal Bloodline down the line, from the Reich all the way to the Ancient Old Ones, cared not for Foundlings. Maybe they were afraid that.. (Read more)

In a field saturated with a flood of vampire books in recent years, it's been rather hard to find one that is unique enough to capture my interest. In fact, I was about ready to give the whole genre a nice long vacation before returning to it.

Then I met the author at a Con and decided to take a chance on this book. Granted it took me a while to actually read the book (life, my own writing and a host of other distractions), but when I did, I was hooked.

I don't like spoilers so I will do my best not to give any but, this book (which is one of three) kept me on the edge of my seat while thoroughly engaging me in the main characters' story. There were times I laughed so hard I cried and times when I cried so hard you would think a second deluge was coming.

But through it all the plot, setting and characters kept me riveted. I WILL be getting book #2: The Beasts Within and reading it as well.

The Foundlings by R.M Garcia

Where to start, this book really intrigued me, I was immediately drawn in from the start; the author leaves no room for you to stray from wanting to continue reading. No matter how hard I tried, I found myself wanting to continue on, and each page left me wondering, “What is going to happen next.” I especially really liked how the author portrayed the characters, they were each somewhat relatable and I thought them to have very unique personalities Though I have to admit there were times I felt the urge to hit one of the characters over the head - (Which the reasons for that can only be known if you read the book yourself)

This book did not disappoint and I quite enjoyed how it went from a fast pace start and then lead the reader back to the beginning and portrays the events that lead up to the opening scene, though it did get a little confusing at first. I would recommend this to any vampire lover that does not mind change to the classic vampire folklore; this book not only delivers but also gives a refreshingly new twist into the world of vampires.

I was not sure what to expect within the pages of the Foundlings. It was truly a different take of the vampire genre. If you loves vampires you will totally love this book.

What an incredible read! The book begins normal enough, but then takes off at a fever pitch. The author's take on vampires is completely unique. I was never disappointed from beginning to end, and was frequently up late trying to finish yet another chapter. I can't wait for more, and am currently reading the blog/add-on chapters, that continue the story.
You can not go wrong by picking up a copy of your own, and then getting 6 more chapters for free.
