About Mamie Jefferson-Hill

Mamie Jefferson-Hill was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Ever since childhood she wanted to become a schoolteacher. At the age of six, she began teaching her little three-year-old brother to read. She is pleased that he grew up to be Master Sergeant Thomas Jefferson in the US Marine Corps and later, became pastor of his own church.

As a child, Mamie played school with her friends and taught the neighborhood children. As an adult, she taught her own son to read at the age of four. She was also pleased when he graduated from Cleveland State University.

While her son was in high school, Mamie went back to college and graduated in 1999 with a degree in Elementary Education from John Carroll University. Mamie has been teaching children in Northeast Ohio ever since graduation.
