I think I enjoyed this one more than Pilate's Cross. Another fast paced, fun read with more unexpected adventures with John Pilate and his friends. It definitely captured the atmosphere and oddities of Key West; I felt like I was walking beside John whether he was enjoying the sun or immersed in the mystery. While this is the second in a series, one can also pick up Key to read first ... the author briefly explains what has happened in the first book so a new reader won't miss a beat. I'd love to read another Pilate adventure soon!
