Three distinct tales from the Holocaust are presented in this anthology of short stories. Each contains a stong heroine, fighting for her life and those around her. The Lodz Ghetto uprising, a unique love story between a Jewish girl and her German captor, and the escape of 600 prisoners from the Sobibor Death Camp are told. I really enjoyed this book. I have read a few books about the holocaust but was always annoyed, or disappointed that the Jews never seemed to fight back. Now I believe some Did try to fight back. However difficult it must have been. Some Did at least try as I read here.

Good stories, with interesting and believable characters. It's a little difficult to see where one story ends and another begins, though. Some sort of heading for each story would help with that.
