Something about the way it was written that made the story feel stilted. If the author was trying to pull off 2nd person POV it didn't work as well as it could have. Also not a good idea to link in your previous stories in subsequent ones if a reader hasn't read any of your previous works.

Well told. A fiction story with enough flavor to be truth. Loved the scene in the alley.
