She turned. It was Zeldon, one of her colleagues drafted in from among the natives of Antimon. How much had he seen? She flushed. She saw herself as he might have seen her: back arched in pleasure, hair cascading back over the shoulders of her boilersuit, her full breasts exposed, her hand in her panties.

She whipped round.

"Don't you ever knock?" she asked accusingly.

Kelly's face was bright red now, and her green eyes blazed with anger.

Zeldon looked hurt, and she felt instantly guilty for yelling.

Maybe that's why I feel embarrassed, she told herself, swiftly following up the thought by telling herself not to be ridiculous.

Her voice softened.

"Hey, Zeldon, I'm sorry. I know it wasn't your fault. I shouldn't have been dealing with my own, erm, needs while I was on duty. I just forgot you were due back from tea break and, well, I'm a bit homesick and lonely, that's all."

Almost without her realising it, her eyes filled up and her dark lashes became wet as the tears ran down her face.

Zeldon walked towards her and put two of his four arms around her.

"Don't cry. I'm not cross with you. I understand you are lonely without your kind here, and I too would find it difficult to go such a long time without experiencing the mating ritual."
