Intriguing, well written but for me I wanted to know more. It felt like the beginning or middle of a story rather than complete.

Having said that, I did enjoy and empathise with the characters as I was reading and of course, the sub-title had alerted me to the fact it is a very short story!

I agree with many of the reviewers, that this is a pretty good story, but would love to see it made into a full length novel, where she gets the girl.

This is the second story I've read from this author. I like the author's style and how he pieces a simple story together that leaves the reader wanting more. This short could easily be made into a novella or more. Nicely done!

It is indeed a 'very short' story like the cover says. The first bit is just repeating what the reader already knows about zombies, but by the end the 'encounter' of the title pulls you in with some nice suspense. Leaves you wanting more.

Don't know how I missed this author, but an author I like wrote and said to take a look. I'm glad he did. This is a wonderful short story. This is one I'd like to see as a novel, as other reviewers have mentioned. Very good writing. I look forward to more.

Hi Tom. This is Sasha. Tom... your story is breathtaking in its quick involvement of the reader. So well done!!
I was with the man in the store every moment and I felt his anxiety as though it were my own.
No question... you have a great storytelling ability!
Thanks for a great read!!
Love it.

Great little short! Well written with good suspense. There are times I think the "sickness" has invaded my workplace!

Very nice short story! Will the human race survive? I'm with him. There are days when I don't think so too. I like that the Zombies are not the typical slow moving, dim-witted creatures we are used to. I look forward to more stories by this author.

This one I liked a lot. There are a lot of vampire, zombie and other stories out there. This short is really good. It's like a teaser for a full length novel, where he spends his days trying to find the beautiful girl, perhaps glancing her from time to time, but never quite reaching her due to the creatures infected with the sickness. Nice story, and I recommend it.

Liked this short a lot! It was recommended by another author who I like, and I'm glad he recommended you. I liked the suspense, never knowing what was on the other side of the isle. Would they get to him first? Would he make it to his machete in time? Would there be a battle? I found myself reading faster and faster to see what was going to happen. Well done. I agree with another review, it would make a great novel I think.

Great story! I can see why you would want a machete close by for sure. This would make a great novella, or perhaps even turned into a novel.

Hello Tom. Glenn here. I really liked this story. Well written and suspenseful with a surprising ending. I sure hope he finds her again sometime. By the way, this would make a great novel!
